  1. 11. Planning Models for Single Wire Earth Return Power Distribution Networks

    Författare :Geofrey Bakkabulindi; Lennart Söder; Mikael Amelin; Peiyuan Chen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Rural electrification; power distribution planning; Single Wire Earth Return; distribution power flow; power system modeling; SRA - Energy; SRA - Energi;

    Sammanfattning : The high cost of grid extension to rural areas, often characterized by scattered communities with low load densities, requires the use of low cost electrification technologies to ensure economic viability. In Single Wire Earth Return (SWER) power distribution networks, the earth itself forms the current return path of the single phase system leading to significant cost savings on conductors, poles and poletop hardware compared to conventional systems. 2. 12. Moving Networks, a Better Way to Serve Vehicular Users

    Författare :Sui Yutao; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; small cells; device-to-device communication; vehicular small cells; Moving relay node; moving cells; moving networks; interference management; ultra-dense networks; vehicular penetration loss;

    Sammanfattning : Nowadays, a great number of mobile broadband users are vehicular. It is very common that people are using their mobile devices either for working or entertainment when they are on the go. We are expecting mobile broadband to offer comparable experience everywhere, e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 13. System Aspects and Modulation Strategies of an HVDC-based Converter System for Wind Farms

    Författare :Stephan Meier; Hans-Peter Nee; Boon-Teck Ooi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Isolated AC DC Converter; Mutual Commutation; Soft Switching; Voltage Source Converter; Cycloconverter; Modulation Strategies; Medium-Frequency Transformer; HVDC Transmission; Wind Power; Wind Farms; Electric power engineering; Elkraftteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning :   In this thesis, a new HVDC-based converter system for wind farms is investigated. It is based on a mutually commutated soft-switching converter system and provides a unique integrated solution for the wind turbine generator drive systems, the wind turbine interconnection, and the power conversion for HVDC transmission. 4. 14. From Sweden to the world: Analysis of future low-carbon electricity systems

    Författare :Xiaoming Kan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; super grid; energy system modeling; net system cost; renewable energy potential; low-carbon electricity system; nuclear power; demand pattern; electric cooling;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing urgency of addressing climate change, along with the sustained cost declines in wind and solar power, has led to a rapid expansion in their deployment to decarbonize the electricity sector. In cost-optimal scenarios for future low-carbon electricity systems, wind and solar often serve as the cornerstone of electricity supply. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Facilitating electron transfer in bioelectrocatalytic systems

    Författare :Alina Sekretaryova; Mats Eriksson; Mikhail Vagin; Anthony Turner; Evgeny Katz; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Bioelectrocatalytic systems are based on biological entities, such as enzymes, whole cells, parts of cells or tissues, which catalyse electrochemical processes that involve the interaction between chemical change and electrical energy. In all cases, biocatalysis is implemented by enzymes, isolated or residing inside cells or part of cells. LÄS MER
