11. CFD as a tool for analysis of complex geometry : Perspectives on time efficient simulations of interior household appliance components
Sammanfattning : Throughout recent years, computer based programs has been applied to solve and analyze industrial problems. One of these developed programs is the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) program. The purpose of implementing CFD analysis is to solve complex flow behavior which is not possible with ordinary calculus. LÄS MER
12. Method development for [11C]carbon monoxide radiochemistry
Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET) is a non-invasive molecular imaging technique that has found extensive utility in biomedical research and in drug development. A fundamental pre-requisite for PET is the tracer, which is a biologically relevant molecule, labeled with a short-lived radionuclide. LÄS MER
13. Model development for auralization of interior tyre noise
Sammanfattning : Increasing competition has set pressure on the product development process to reduce development time and costs. Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) has been used to decrease development times by facilitating early predictions of product performances and qualities. LÄS MER
14. Juvenile birch in Sweden : Selected stem characteristics for interior and furniture applications
Sammanfattning : In response to the furniture industry’s growing demand for raw material, large volumes of juvenile silver birch and downy birch stems available from pre-commercial thinning operations in Sweden’s forests could offer solutions. However, such stems are not currently used on an industrial scale, and most research conducted on birch stems in general has neither focussed on young trees nor the potential use of the central stem part around the tree pith. 15. Approaches to accelerate methods for solving systems of equations arising in nonlinear optimization
Sammanfattning : Methods for solving nonlinear optimization problems typically involve solving systems of equations. This thesis concerns approaches for accelerating some of those methods. In our setting, accelerating involves finding a trade-off between the computational cost of an iteration and the quality of the computed search direction. LÄS MER
