  1. 1. Sorption and transformation of polar pharmaceuticals during wastewater treatment studied by hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction

    Författare :Estelle Larsson; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pharmaceuticals; wastewater treatment; sludge; hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the application of hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction as a simple, efficient and environmentally friendly tool to study the fate of four common anti-inflammatory drugs (ketoprofen, naproxen, diclofenac and ibuprofen) during wastewater treatment. Initial experiments verified that this technique is applicable on aqueous as well as suspensions of solid samples, thus greatly simplifying the sample preparation. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Analysis of tracer molecules from organic aerosols - Application of liquid phase microextraction to aerosol analysis

    Författare :Murtaza Hyder; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Liquid membrane extraction; Secondary organic aerosols; Enrichment; Tracers; Hollow fiber liquid phase microextraction; Biomass burning; Organic carbon;

    Sammanfattning : Airborne particulate matter is well known because of its adverse impacts on human health and its role in climate processes. In order to understand completely the role of aerosols in atmosphere, their chemical composition is of basic importance. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Uptake and bioaccumulation of ionizable pharmaceuticals in aquatic organisms

    Författare :Marja L. Boström; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antidepressiva medel; Avloppsvatten; BAF; BCF; Bioackumulation; Biokoncentration; Biomagnifikation; CYP; Extraktionsteknik; HF-LPME; Joniserbara läkemedel; Metabolism; pH; Riskanalys; Tolerans; Antidepressant; BAF; BCF; Bioaccumulation; Bioconcentration; Biomagnification; CYP; Extraction technique; HF-LPME; Ionizable pharmaceutical; Metabolism; pH; Risk assessment; Tolerance; Wastewater;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceuticals are found at low concentrations (ng/L) in aquatic environments but bioaccumulation may result in aquatic organisms reaching internal effect levels (µg/L). Environmental hazard assessments include standardized bioaccumulation tests but contrary to the model substances around which the frameworks are built most pharmaceuticals are designed to mimic endogenic chemicals, ionizable, and less lipophilic.
