  1. 1. Molecular mechanisms of tumor development in hyperparathyroidism

    Författare :Filip Farnebo; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :parathyroid; hyperparathyroidism; MEN 1; FIHP; loss of heterozygosity; comparative genomic hybridization; mutation analysis; in situ hybridization;

    Sammanfattning : Loss of heterozygosity (LOH) analysis and comparative genomic hybridization (CGH) were used in an attempt to identify recurrent chromosomal alterations in different types of parathyroid tumors. These included familial and sporadic, benign and malignant, as well as primary, irradiation associated and secondary tumors. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Genetic Aspects of Endocrine Tumorigenesis : A Hunt for the Endocrine Neoplasia Gene

    Författare :Alberto Delgado Verdugo; Peyman Björklund; gunnar westin; Per Hellman; Filip Farnebo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Exome sequencing; SDHAF2; epigenetics; methylation; methylation array; Sanger sequencing; pheochromocytoma; SI-NETs; carcinoid; oncology; endocrine surgery; parathyroid; Genetics; Genetik; Kirurgi; Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Endocrine tumors arise from endocrine glands. Most endocrine tumors are benign but malignant variants exist. Several endocrine neoplasms display loss of parts of chromosome 11 or 18, produce hormones and responds poorly to conventional chemotherapeutics. The multiple endocrine neoplasia syndromes are mainly confined to endocrine tumors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. CCN2 – Keratinocyte Interactions In Vitro and In Vivo

    Författare :Elizabeth Kiwanuka; Bengt Gerdin; Kristofer Rubin; Filip Farnebo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :CCN2; connective tissue growth factor; keratinocytes; re-epithelialization; cell migration; cell signaling; Plastikkirurgi; Plastic Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Cutaneous wound healing is a complex process involving the migration of inflammatory cells to the wound site, deposition of extracellular matrix, and the reestablishment of an intact epithelial barrier. Re-epithelialization depends on the proliferation and directional migration of keratinocytes from the wound edges. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Roles of Growth Factor Interactions and Mechanical Tension in Angiogenesis

    Författare :Ludvig Petersson; Pär Gerwins; Filip Farnebo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :angiogenesis; myofibroblast; wound healing; VEGF; FGF; PDGF; endocan; endothelial cell; vascularization; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : Angiogenesis, the formation of new blood vessels from preexisting ones through creation of new vessel branch points by sprouting or vessel splitting, is an important part of tissue growth in both physiological processes like wound healing and pathological conditions such as cancer. Growth factors like VEGF-A, FGF-2 and PDGF-BB are involved in both types of angiogenesis. LÄS MER
