1. Surface Complexation Studies in An (Th, U(IV), Pu(VI)) Systems
Sammanfattning : Two-phase systems containing an electrolyte solution and a suspended solid were studied. The common denominator for the three systems examined in this work is that they contain actinides (elements of atomic numbers between 89 and 103) in either the solid phase or as a sorbate. Experiments were done on simple oxides. LÄS MER
2. Chlorite: Geochemical properties, Dissolution kinetcis and Ni(II) sorption
Sammanfattning : In Sweden, among other countries, a deep multi-barrier geological repository, KBS-3, is planned for the burial of nuclear waste. One of the barriers is identified as the grantic bedrock itself and in this environment chlorite is present at surfaces in fracture zones. LÄS MER
3. Surface complexation at calcium mineral-water interfaces
Sammanfattning : Surface reactions occurring at solid-water interfaces in calcium mineral-ligands systems have been studied. Both hydrous apatite and fluorite surfaces show clear amphoteric properties. An ion exchange process between lattice ions of F- on fluorite and OH- ions in bulk solution is discovered. LÄS MER
4. Surface reactions in aqueous metal sulfide systems
Sammanfattning : Surface reactions in aqueous metal sulfide systems have been studied. The composition and stability of various complexes at the PbS-H20 the PbS/H20 and ZnS/H20 interface were evaluated. LÄS MER
5. Sorption and weathering properties of naturally occurring chlorites
Sammanfattning : Chlorite is a ferrous silicate mineral occurring as afracture filling mineral in the Swedish granite bedrock thatsurrounds the area of the candidate Swedish geologicalrepositories for nuclear waste. To investigate the importance of chlorites as a naturalbarrier for radionuclide migration sorption of Ni(II) onto anatural chlorite was chosen as the studied system. LÄS MER
