21. Structural Studies of Three Glycosidases
Sammanfattning : Glycosidases hydrolyse the glycosidic bond in carbohydrates. Structural studies of three glycosidases with different substrate specificities are presented in this work.Dextranase catalyzes the hydrolysis of α-1,6-glycosidic linkage in dextran polymers. LÄS MER
22. Plant and microbial xyloglucanases: Function, Structure and Phylogeny
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, enzymes acting on the primary cell wall hemicellulose xyloglucan are studied. Xyloglucans are ubiquitous in land plants which make them an important polysaccharide to utilise for microbes and a potentially interesting raw material for various industries. LÄS MER
23. Probing Interactions between Bio-Fibre Components
24. Inguinal hernia surgery : aspects on chronic pain and contralateral repair
Sammanfattning : Inguinal hernia is common, and the only permanent treatment is surgical repair. Approximately 16,000 hernia repairs are performed annually in Sweden. Optimized surgical technique including mesh prosthesis decreases the prevalence of recurrences and the main outcome measurement is today chronic postoperative inguinal pain (CPIP). LÄS MER
25. Haemorrhoids : Aspects of Symptoms and Results after Surgery
Sammanfattning : One hundred haemorrhoid patients were compared with 300 matched control persons. Haemorrhoid symptoms and bowel symptoms were studied. Most common symptom of the patients was bleeding (44%), followed by prolapse (24%), hygiene problem (14%), pain (12%) and itching (5%). LÄS MER
