  1. 31. On the Challenges for Time-of-Flight Electron Spectroscopy at Storage Rings

    Författare :Christian Stråhlman; Lunds universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; time-of-flight; photoelectron spectroscopy; MAX IV; storage ring; detector gating; chopper; coincidence spectroscopy;

    Sammanfattning : Time-of-flight (TOF) techniques for energy analysis have been common in electron spectroscopy for many decades. TOF-based electron spectrometers benefit from higher transmission and information rate compared to their main competitor: the hemispherical analyser; the drawback being their lower energy resolution. 2. 32. Dynamics of Photoinduced Processes in Dye-Sensitized Nanocrystalline Semiconductor Films--Reactions in the Photoactive Part of the Grätzel Solar Cell

    Författare :Gabor Benko; Kemisk fysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; supraledare; magnetisk resonans; spektroskopi; magnetiska och optiska ; egenskaper elektriska; Kondenserade materiens egenskaper:elektronstruktur; spectroscopy; relaxation; magnetic resonance; supraconductors; Kemi; Condensed matter:electronic structure; electrical; femtosecond spectroscopy; solar cells; Chemistry; excited states; photoinduced electron transfer; transition metal complexes; nanocrystalline titanium dioxide; dye sensitization; porous semiconductor film; magnetic and optical properties;

    Sammanfattning : The key materials used to convert solar energy into electricity in the Grätzel-type solar cells are dye molecules and titanium dioxide particles attached to each other. The former are similar to those in common products like purple pigments in blueberry juice, while the latter are like sunscreen, white paint, or toothpaste. LÄS MER

  3. 33. Shining Light on Molecules : Electron Transfer Processes in Model Systems for Solar Energy Conversion Investigated by Transient Absorption Spectroscopy

    Författare :Jens Föhlinger; Leif Hammarström; Davidsson Jan; Benjamin Dietzek; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photophysics; photoinduced electron transfer; transient absorption spectroscopy; laser spectroscopy; solar energy conversion; p-type DSSCs; Charge separation; recombination; mesoporous NiO;

    Sammanfattning : In the recent years, solar energy conversion has attracted a huge research interest due to the potential application for limiting the greenhouse effect. In many solar cells and solar fuel cells, understanding of charge transfer (CT) and recombination is important for future improvement of the overall efficiency. LÄS MER

  4. 34. Time-Frequency Analysis in Attosecond Spectroscopy

    Författare :Marcus Isinger; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Attosecond; Spectroscopy; Time-Frequency; High-order harmonic generation; Rabitt; Interferometry;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with ultrafast dynamics of electronic processes in rare gas atoms. The processes we explore include photoemission, where we time the emission of electrons moving away from the atomic core following ionization by a photon; and auto-ionization, where the atom spontaneously releases an electron wave-packet following photo-excitation. 5. 35. Attosecond interferometry: techniques and spectroscopy

    Författare :David Kroon; Atomfysik; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fysicumarkivet A:2016:Kroon; Electron wave packet; Attosecond Pulse trains; Photoionization; Photoemission time delay; High-order harmonic generation; Interferometry; Electron dynamics;

    Sammanfattning : The interaction between an intense laser pulse and a gas medium leads to the emission of coherent bursts of light in the extreme ultraviolet range. This process, known as high-order harmonic generation, has today, almost three decades after its discovery, developed into a reliable source of extremely short (on the order of 100 as) pulses of electromagnetic radiation, with a wide range of applications in the atomic, molecular and optical sciences.
