  1. 41. Utilizing a tectonic framework to constrain the mineral system and remobilization in the Kiruna mining district, Sweden

    Författare :Leslie Logan; Tobias E. Bauer; Fernando Tornos; Olof Martinsson; Paul Evins; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Kiruna; tectonic framework; mineral system; IOCG; IOA; remobilization; sulfur isotopes; trace elements; geochronology; Pahtohavare; Viscaria; Rakkurijärvi; Malmgeologi; Ore Geology;

    Sammanfattning : The Kiruna mining district, located in the northern Norrbotten ore province, Sweden, is a geologically and economically important area, being the type-locality for Kiruna iron oxide-apatite (IOA) deposits and also host to a variety of other deposits including syngenetic stratiform exhalative Cu-(Fe-Zn) (Viscaria, Eastern Pahtohavare), epigenetic stratabound Cu ± Au (Pahtohavare), and iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG, Rakkurijärvi) deposits. However, the timing of IOA versus IOCG within the tectonic evolution is in question based on structural investigations showing Cu- and Fe-sulfides occur in late-orogenic structures. LÄS MER

  2. 42. Development of a Risk-Based Decision Model for Prioritizing Microbial Risk Mitigation Measures in Drinking Water Systems

    Författare :Viktor Bergion; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; quantitative microbial risk assessment; microbial risks; pathogens; water quality modelling; drinking water system; cost-benefit analysis; decision support;

    Sammanfattning : Risk management of drinking water systems is crucial since our society relies on these systems to be robust and sustainable to supply safe drinking water now and to future generations. Pathogens may spread in drinking water systems and cause waterborne outbreaks resulting in human suffering and large costs to the society. LÄS MER

  4. 44. A new synthetic strategy for low-dimensional compounds : Lone pair cations and alkaline earth spacers

    Författare :Rie Takagi Fredrickson; Mats Johnsson; Sven Lidin; Lars Kloo; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Alkaline earth; Lone pair elements; Low-dimensional compounds; Inorganic chemistry; Oorganisk kemi; oorganisk kemi; Inorganic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : Complex transition metals oxyhalides containing a lone pair element, such as tellurium (IV), form an attractive research field because there is a high probability of finding new low-dimensionally arranged compounds and, particularly, a low-dimensionally arranged transition metals substructures, leading to interesting physical properties. Tellurium (IV) can drive the formation of many unusual structures because of its stereochemically active lone pair electrons, E. LÄS MER

  5. 45. ‘Less But Better’ Meat for Food System Sustainability - Exploring Meanings & Characterisations

    Författare :Kajsa Resare Sahlin; Line Gordon; Annika Carlsson-Kanyama; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; ‘less but better’ meat; livestock; food system sustainability;

    Sammanfattning : Livestock systems are key drivers behind a range of pressing sustainability issues; but with that, also present central opportunities for leveraging positive food system change. The aim of this thesis is to contribute to increased understanding of what more sustainable meat production and consumption is, using ‘less but better’ as a framework. LÄS MER
