  1. 1. Designing a certification system for sustainable urban areas : Key considerations and their implications for the development of Citylab Post-Construction

    Författare :Jonas Lind; Tove Malmqvist; Josefin Wangel; Örjan Wikfors; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Citylab; sustainable urban planning; certification systems; Citylab; hållbar stadsutveckling; stadsplanering; certifieringssystem; Strategier för hållbar utveckling; Strategies for sustainable development; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : In future development dealingwith ongoing global urbanisation and sustainability challenges,urban development is often seen asa key component. To support urban development, various certification systems that define 'sustainable'buildingsor urban areashave been developed world-wide. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Verification Based Failure Detection for Real-Time Java and Floating-Point Computations

    Författare :Gabriele Paganelli; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Debugging; Floating-Point; Formal Methods; Testing; Real-Time Java; Coverage; Satisfiability Modulo Theories; Certification; Formal Specification;

    Sammanfattning : To err is human, and machines help us avoiding errors. This thesis presents two ways, based on verification technology, to prevent failures.Safety critical Real-Time Java applications usually need a certification. Tests fulfilling specific coverage criteria can be part of such certification, like in the DO-178 standard. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Indoor air quality and chemical emissions of organic compounds in newly built low-energy preschools

    Författare :Josefin Persson; Thanh Wang; Jessika Hagberg; Pim Leonards; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Indoor air quality; volatile organic compounds; brominated flame retardants; organophosphate flame retardants; low-energy preschools; environmental certification; indoor dust; surface wipes;

    Sammanfattning : In 2010, the European Union (EU) introduced the “Energy performance of Buildings” directive, which stipulates that all new buildings must reduce their energy consumption by constructing low-energy buildings. This could be achieved by constructing airtight and energy efficient envelopes with functional building materials such as age-resistant plastic films, insulation and different sealing products. 4. 4. Investigating Dwellings' Response to Heating Power Cuts : Simulations and Field Tests

    Författare :Victor Fransson; Avdelningen för Installations- och klimatiseringslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Reducing energy use, increasing the use of renewable energy sources, and adapting to stricter building regulations and certification systems – these are all examples of the challenges facing the building industry and society. Looking at the energy supply at a larger scale than a single building, like a neighborhood or a city, the stack effect of peak power demands can cause problems on the production side, either economical or concerning the environment and greenhouse gases when fossil fuel is used to cover these peaks. 5. 5. Three Aspects of Real-Time Multiprocessor Scheduling: Timeliness, Fault Tolerance, Mixed Criticality

    Författare :Risat Pathan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Mixed-Criticality Systems; Fault-Tolerant Scheduling; Fixed Priority; Real-Time Systems; Global Multiprocessor Scheduling; Time Redundancy; Sporadic Tasks;

    Sammanfattning : The design of real-time systems faces two important challenges: incorporating more functions/services on existing hardware to make the system more attractive to the market, and deploying existing software on multiprocessors (e.g., multicore) to utilize moreprocessing power.
