  1. 1. Fastighetsförvaltning med miljöproblemen i fokus : om miljöstyrning och uppföljning av minskad miljöpåverkan i fastighetsförvaltande organisationer

    Författare :Tove Malmqvist; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; environmental management systems; real estate management; environmental impact; environmental performance; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : Many of our most important and debated environmental problems of today have a tight relationship to the built environment. Examples are energy use, diffusion of chemical compounds through building materials and products and negative health impacts caused by emissions to indoor environments. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Methodological aspects of environmental assessment of buildings

    Författare :Tove Malmqvist; Mauritz Glaumann; Göran Finnveden; Raymond J Cole; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; environmental assessment; buildings; tool; environmental performance; property management; Civil engineering and architecture; Samhällsbyggnadsteknik och arkitektur;

    Sammanfattning : The built environment contributes extensively to the overall environmental impact of society. An increasing number of tools have been developed worldwide for comprehensive environmental assessment and rating of buildings in order to make the building sector more sustainable. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Managing high environmental performance? : Applying life cycle approaches and environmental certification tools in the building and real estate sectors

    Författare :Nils W. O. Brown; Tove Malmqvist; Peter Guthrie; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Buildings; operational energy use; life cycle assessment; environmental certification; environmental assessment; renovation; strategy; design process; value creation; embodied environmental impacts; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis;

    Sammanfattning : The main aim of this thesis is  to demonstrate and critically assess life cycle approaches’ and environmental certification (EC) tools’ potential for supporting decisions for improved environmental performance in the building and real estate sectors.Using life cycle approaches, the thesis shows that for new build and renovation cases aiming for low operational energy use that embodied global warming potential (GWP) due to material production can constitute a large portion of a building’s lifetime GWP. 4. 4. Buildings in municipal climate change mitigation strategies : towards life cycle thinking

    Författare :Nicolas Francart; Tove Malmqvist; Martin Erlandsson; Paula Femenias; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building; lca; requirement; environmental performance; futures studies; backcasting; environmental engineering; sustainable urban planning; Planering och beslutsanalys; Planning and Decision Analysis; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Fulfilling climate targets requires ambitious changes. The building sector is a large contributor to emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG), but also offers opportunities for climate change impact reductions. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Decision support for the implementation of low-carbon measures in the building sector

    Författare :Nicolas Francart; Tove Malmqvist; Paula Femenias; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; building; sustainability; environmental performance assessment; life cycle assessment; decision making; byggnad; hållbarhet; miljöprestandabedömning; livscykelanalys; beslutsstöd; Strategier för hållbar utveckling; Strategies for sustainable development;

    Sammanfattning : The building sector is responsible for about a fifth to a third of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Therefore, a successful mitigation of GHG emissions over the entire life cycle of buildings is particularly important to achieve climate targets such as the Paris Agreement. LÄS MER
