  1. 1. Towards Controlled Growth and Applications of Carbon Nanotubes

    Författare :Raluca Elena Morjan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; acetylene; carbon nanotubes; carbon feedstock; chemical vapor deposition; fullerenes; dc-glow discharge plasma; growth mechanism; metal catalyst;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with growth, characterization and application of carbon nanotubes. The methods involved in the production of carbon nanotubes are thermal chemical vapor deposition (T-CVD) and plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PE-CVD). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of Carbon Oxidation Kinetics for Particulate Matter Reduction Technologies

    Författare :Carolin Ohlson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Heterogeneous catalysis; Carbon – catalyst interaction; Soot oxidation; Particulate filter; Carbon oxidation; Global kinetics; Regeneration; Particulate matter oxidation; DPF;

    Sammanfattning : Transport related emissions of particulate matter (PM) represent a significant health risk and are therefore strictly regulated in most developed countries. An efficient technique to reduce emissions of combustion particles is to capture the particles in a filter, which must be subsequently regenerated by oxidation of the carbonaceous fraction of the PM. 3. 3. Iron-nitrogen containing carbon catalysts for oxygen reduction in fuel cells

    Författare :Caroline Janson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; active site; mesoporous carbon; fuel cell; electron paramagnetic resonance; oxygen reduction reaction; cathode catalyst; non-precious metal catalyst;

    Sammanfattning : New solutions to efficiently convert energy are needed to mitigate global climate changes and sustain the needs of the growing population. An energy device with high potential is the proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell. PEM fuel cells can convert chemical energy to electrical energy with extraordinary high conversion efficiency. Sammanfattning : This thesis was accomplished under the scope of eSCALED project administrated by EU MSCA horizon 2020 program, which aimed to develop a device called “artificial leaf” responsible for generating fuels or liquid chemicals (H2 production or CO2 reduction) using solar electrolysis. My objective was to develop a noble metal free, efficient cathode materials for H2 production for the device which yield this thesis. LÄS MER
