31. Obtaining Accurate and Comprehensible Data Mining Models : An Evolutionary Approach
Sammanfattning : When performing predictive data mining, the use of ensembles is claimed to virtually guarantee increased accuracy compared to the use of single models. Unfortunately, the problem of how to maximize ensemble accuracy is far from solved. LÄS MER
32. Collaborative Measures : Challenges in Airport Operations
Sammanfattning : Over the last 20 years, internal use of Performance Management(PM) within organizations has become much more complex in terms measurement techniques and approaches as well as their deployment within different organizational structures. In contrast to the traditional use of PM as an intra-organizational system, the emergence of networked operations, has extended organizational boundaries of Performance Management System (PMS) to new operational settings where actors often deal with a challenge of Collaborative Measures. 33. Modulatory effects and interactions of substance P, dopamine and 5-HT in a neuronal network
Sammanfattning : The spinal neuronal network that generates the locomotor rhythm in lamprey contains excitatory and inhibitory interneurons, reticulospinal inputs from the brainstem, and motor neurons. In this thesis, I have studied how the spinal locomotor network cart be modulated by a tachykinin, dopamine and 5- HT that are co-localized in midline neurons situated below the central canal. 34. The role of leptin in zebrafish (Danio rerio) : Novel insights into appetite regulation and reproduction
Sammanfattning : The hormone leptin is a peripheral metabolic signal and an important regulator of energy balance. In mammals, leptin acts on the appetite centers in the hypothalamus, causing anorexigenic functions by inhibiting food intake. It is also considered as a link between the nutritional status and the endocrine reproductive axis. LÄS MER
35. Genetic and biological characterization of the anorexic anx/anx mouse
Sammanfattning : Pathological deviations in body weight is a major health problem. It is currently unclear how normal body weight and food intake is controlled. There is even less understanding of the mechanisms behind abnormal eating behavior as in anorexia and obesity. LÄS MER
