11. The initial atmospheric corrosion of copper and zinc induced by carboxylic acids : Quantitative in situ analysis and computer simulations
Sammanfattning : Degradation of metals through atmospheric corrosion is a most important and costly phenomenon with significant effects on, e.g., the lifespan of industrial materials, the reliability of electronic components and military equipment, and the aesthetic appearance of our cultural heritage. 12. The role of particles on initial atmospheric corrosion of copper and zinc : lateral distribution, secondary spreading and CO2-/SO2-influence
Sammanfattning : The role of sodium chloride (NaCl) particles and ammonium sulfate ((NH4)2SO4) particles on the initial atmospheric corrosion of copper and zinc was investigated under in situ and ex situ conditions using microgravimetry, FTIR spectroscopy, ion chromatography, scanning electron microscopy with x-ray microanalysis and the scanning Kelvin probe. For the first time, in situ infrared spectra were collected on a micron level during particle induced atmospheric corrosion using a recently developed experimental set-up for in situ FTIR microspectroscopy. 13. Studies on the Recovery of Secondary Antimony Compounds from Waste
Sammanfattning : The global supply of antimony is dominated by one country which has led the European Union to classify antimony as a critical raw material. Other than the rare-earth elements antimony has the highest supply risk. Therefore, a feasibility study on the recycling of antimony and antimony compounds is of great importance. LÄS MER
14. ZnO and CuO Nanostructures: Low Temperature Growth, Characterization, their Optoelectronic and Sensing Applications
Sammanfattning : One dimensional (1-D), zinc oxide (ZnO) and copper (II) oxide (CuO), nanostructures have great potential for applications in the fields of optoelectronic and sensor devices. Research on nanostructures is a fascinating field that has evolved during the last few years especially after the utilization of the hydrothermal growth method. LÄS MER
15. Electrochemical Biosensors Based on Functionalized Zinc Oxide Nanorods
Sammanfattning : The semi-conductor zinc oxide (ZnO), a representative of group II-VI has gained substantial interest in the research community due to its novel properties and characteristics. ZnO a direct band gap (3.4eV) semi-conductor has a stable wurtzite structure. LÄS MER
