11. Modelling crack-induced ultrasonic scattering in a thick-walled pipe
Sammanfattning : Ultrasonic testing is used in several industries where there are high demands on safety, e.g. nuclear power and aerospace industries. In the nuclear industry and elsewhere there are many pipes that need to be tested. LÄS MER
12. Magnetron sputter epitaxy of 2h-Al1-xInxN thin films
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the growth and structural characterization of epitaxial 2h A11-xInxN ranging from pure A1N to InN [01-xInxN films were synthesized by dual DC reactive Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy (MSE) in an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) system. Growth parameters such as deposition temperature and magnetron power settings were adjusted in order to control the film stoichiometry. LÄS MER
13. Finite Element Analysis of Case-Hardened Roller Bearings
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the material modelling of case-hardened bearing steel, with special reference to hardened roller bearing components. The result of a case-hardening process is a hardened component with substantially improved material properties within a restricted region beneath the heat-treated surface. LÄS MER
14. Creep, deformation and moisture redistribution during air convective wood drying and conditioning : air convective wood drying and conditioning
Sammanfattning : Air convective wood drying is associated with a considerable risk for damage to the timber, especially checking and warping. This thesis contains an analysis of creep and deformation during wood drying related to stress development and susceptibility of checking. Also heat and mass transfer problems in the wood drying process are considered. LÄS MER
15. Mechanical Properties of Arteries : An In Vivo Parameter Identification Method
Sammanfattning : In this dissertation, a method is proposed that identifies the mechanical properties of arteries in vivo. The mechanical properties of an artery are linked to the development of cardiovascular diseases. LÄS MER
