6. Growth and microstructure of reactive sputter deposited boron nitride : carbon (BN:C) thin films
Sammanfattning : Growth, microstructure and mechanical properties of boron nitride: carbon (BN:C) have been studied in films prepared by reactive r.f. diode sputter deposition as well as by reactive unbalanced d.c. LÄS MER
7. Electrochromism in Nickel-based Oxides : Coloration Mechanisms and Optimization of Sputter-deposited Thin Films
Sammanfattning : Electrochromic properties of sputter-deposited nickel-based oxide films have been studied with a two-fold goal. From a practical point of view, the optical switching performance has been improved by optimizing the deposition conditions and film stoichiometry with respect to oxygen and hydrogen, and further by adding Mg, Al, Si, Zr, Nb or Ta to the films. 8. Magnetron sputter epitaxy of 2h-Al1-xInxN thin films
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes the growth and structural characterization of epitaxial 2h A11-xInxN ranging from pure A1N to InN [01-xInxN films were synthesized by dual DC reactive Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy (MSE) in an ultra-high vacuum (UHV) system. Growth parameters such as deposition temperature and magnetron power settings were adjusted in order to control the film stoichiometry. LÄS MER
9. Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy of CrB2/TiB2 Diboride Superlattice Thin Films
Sammanfattning : Artificial superlattices with their exceptional properties have been popular in a broad range of applications such as electronic, magnetic, optical, and hard coating. Another potential application for single crystal artificial superlattices is highly efficient interference neutron optics, owing to an ultimate interface width of just ±½ atomic layer. LÄS MER
10. Metastable orthorhombic Ta3N5 thin films grown by magnetron sputter epitaxy
Sammanfattning : The semiconductor tritantalum pentanitride (Ta3N5) is a promising green-energy material for photoelectrolyzing water to produce oxygen and hydrogen owing to its proper bandgap of 2.0 ± 0.2 eV and band positions to redox potential of water. LÄS MER
