21. Fatigue life extension in existing steel bridges. High-Frequency Mechanical Impact treatment and Tungsten Inert Gas remelting in life extension and fatigue crack repair of welded steel structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the performance of improved welds with two post-weld treatment methods for application on existing structures. High-Frequency Mechanical Impact (HFMI) treatment and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) remelting were used for fatigue life extension of welded structures. LÄS MER
22. Big Data Analytics for Fault Detection and its Application in Maintenance
Sammanfattning : Big Data analytics has attracted intense interest recently for its attempt to extract information, knowledge and wisdom from Big Data. In industry, with the development of sensor technology and Information & Communication Technologies (ICT), reams of high-dimensional, streaming, and nonlinear data are being collected and curated to support decision-making. 23. Spectral analysis and magnetic resonance spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with nonparametric approaches for spectral analysis (SA) and algorithms for magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) data analysis.A method to obtain the optimal smoothing window for the class of SA methods based on local smoothing of the periodogram is proposed. 24. Compression uniformity measurements on coated anduncoated paper surfaces
Sammanfattning : Paper is exposed to compressive stresses at several occasions in its production process and in subsequent printing operations. In the press section of a paper machine, the fibre web is mechanically dewatered by compression. LÄS MER
25. Inverse Problems for Tumour Growth Models and Neural ODEs
Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns the application of methods and techniques from the theory of inverse problems and differential equations to study models arising in the areas of mathematical oncology and deep learning. The first problem studied is to develop methods to perform numerical simulations with full 3-dimensional brain imaging data of reaction-diffusion models for tumour growth forwards as well as backwards in time with the goal of enabling the numerical reconstruction of the source of the tumour given an image (or similar data) at a later stage in time of the tumour.
