  1. 11. Co-firing complex biomass in a CFB boiler : ash transformation, corrosion control and materials selection

    Författare :Henrik Hagman; Dan Boström; Rainer Backman; Mats Lundberg; Lars-Erik Åmand; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ash transformation; process control; equilibrium calculations; boiler availability; failures; alloy selection; alloy degradation; vortex finder VF ; service life estimation; sulfation; chloridation; high temperature corrosion; biomass; waste derived fuels; forest residues; RDF; Biomal; slaughterhouse waste; peat; waste wood; industrial waste water treatment sludge; HAD; RSMT; Alloy 253MA; Alloy 310S; Alloy 800H HT; Alloy DS; Alloy 600;

    Sammanfattning : The effects of greenhouse gas net emissions on global warming, stricter legislation on waste handling, and the pursuit of ever cheaper heat- and power production are all important factors driving the introduction of complex fuels in incineration plants. However - without fundamental knowledge regarding ash transformation, corrosion control, and materials selection – this introduction of potentially economically and environmentally beneficial fuels, might instead cause economic loss and environmentally adverse effects. 2. 12. Transport of Heavy Metals in Soil Subjected to an Electric Field -A Study of the Transport of Copper in Bentonite Clay

    Författare :Klas Arnerdal; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :Electrokinetic soil remediation; bentonite; copper; adsorption; electromigration; electroosmosis; pH; potential;

    Sammanfattning : This licentiate thesis addressesphosphorus release from sewage sludge, which is the first stepin phosphorus recovery. The concept ofphosphorus recovery maybe seen as a part of sustainable sludge handling in that it isa means of recycling resources without supplying harmfulsubstances to humans or the environment. 3. 13. Reactive filter materials for ammonium and phosphorus sorption in small scale wastewater treatment

    Författare :Annelie Hedström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Existing small scale wastewater treatment systems in Nordic countries have generally low treatment efficiency regarding phosphorus and nitrogen. Even though only 15% of the Swedish population is connected to on-site wastewater treatment systems, the total discharge of phosphorus from these systems exceeds the total discharge from all municipal treatment plants in Sweden. 4. 14. Diffuse emissions from goods : influences on some societal end products

    Författare :Jennie Amneklev; Bo Bergbäck; Hans-Bertil Wittgren; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Arsenic; bismuth; CCA-treated wood; copper; material flow analysis; silver; substance flow analysis; urban flows; Miljövetenskap; Environmental Science;

    Sammanfattning : End products of society (e.g. sewage sludge and incineration ashes) can be used as indicators of the use of chemicals in consumer goods. Through upstream work the sources of substances released from goods may be identified before the emissions reach the end products. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Nutrient management in sewerage systems : investigations of components and exergy analysis

    Författare :Daniel Hellström; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis is to present results from different experiments dealing with components that may be useful to improve nutrient management within sewerage systems. Further, exergy analysis is used to compare the utilisation of physical resources within different alternatives for sewerage nutrient management. LÄS MER
