31. Optical properties of active photonic materials
Sammanfattning : Because of the generation of polaritons, which are quasiparticles possessing the characteristics of both photonics and electronics, active photonic materials offer a possible solution to transfer electromagnetic energy below the diffraction limit and further increase the density of photonic integrated circuits. A theoretical investigation of these exciting materials is, therefore, very important for practical applications. LÄS MER
32. Adiabatic Andreev Levels Under Irradiation - Coherent Dynamics and Dephasing
Sammanfattning : A study of the Andreev level current through a weakly voltage-biased single-mode superconducting quantum point contact under microwave irradiation is presented. The applied microwave field induces resonant transitions between the current carrying Andreev states localized to the contact region, which results in an increase of the dc subgap current by several orders of magnitude. 33. Feasibility study of resonant antiproton capture by ions and an open system approach to resonance decay
Sammanfattning : The present thesis is based on two different projects. The first part deals withresonant capture of antiprotons by electron excitation in highly charged hydrogenlike ions. LÄS MER
34. Resonant States in Negative Ions
Sammanfattning : Resonant states are multiply excited states in atoms and ions that have enough energy to decay by emitting an electron. The ability to emit an electron and the strong electron correlation (which is extra strong in negative ions) makes these states both interesting and challenging from a theoretical point of view. 35. Laser cooling mechanisms and Brownian motors in optical lattices
