11. Invasive treatment of coronary artery disease : Aspects on antithrombotic and percutaneous treatment options
Sammanfattning : The outcome after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has improved considerably thanks to more effective antithrombotic treatment strategies and improved coronary stents. Stent thrombosis (ST) is a rare complication to PCI associated with considerable mortality and morbidity. LÄS MER
12. Percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy in geriatric patients with dysphagia
Sammanfattning : Background: Orofaryngeal dysphagia (OD) is common in geriatric patients and a risk factor for malnutrition and prolonged in-hospital stay. Nutritional assessment is essential in these patients and documentation should be performed. LÄS MER
13. The role of C-reactive protein in percutaneous coronary intervention
Sammanfattning : An elevated preprocedural plasma or serum C-reactive protein (CRP) level in patients undergoing percutanous coronary intervention (PCI) is associated with short-, intermediate- and long-term outcome. Furthermore, the procedure itself has been shown to provoke an inflammatory reaction as shown by increased plasma CRP levels after PCI. LÄS MER
14. Diagnosis of interatrial shunts and the influence of patent foramen ovale on oxygen desaturation in obstructive sleep apnea
Sammanfattning : Patent foramen ovale (PFO) is found in 27% of the population and although mostly asymptomatic, PFO has been associated with e.g. cryptogenic stroke and, rarely, also with oxygen desaturation. PFO and atrial septal defects may nowadays be closed percutaneously without open heart surgery. LÄS MER
15. Studies of Sunscreens: Percutaneous Absorption of Benzophenone-3 and Photostability
Sammanfattning : Studies of Sunscreens: Percutaneous Absorption of Benzophenone-3 and Photostability Helena Gonzalez Department of Dermatology and Venereology Institute of Clinical Sciences The Sahlgrenska Academy at Göteborg University Göteborg, Sweden Abstract Aim: To learn more about percutaneous absorption of the photoactive compound benzophenone-3 (BZ-3) and to study the excretion pattern of BZ-3 and its metabolite dihydroxy benzophenone (DHB). We also got the opportunity to develop a reverse-phase HPLC method to analyze BZ-3 and DHB. LÄS MER
