21. Application of Infrared and UV-Visible Remote Sensing Techniques for Studying the Stratosphere and for Estimating Antrophogenic Emissions
Sammanfattning : Infrared and UV/visible broadband absorption techniques have been used in three applications related to environmental research and atmospheric science. The techniques are based on measuring the attenuation of light by the atmosphere in the infrared and UV/visible region, and since a very large number of species absorb light in these wavelength regions, the techniques studied allow the measurement of several species simultaneously. 22. Computational modelling of machining - Mesh objective ductile damage modelling
Sammanfattning : AbstractTo strengthen the competitiveness the manufacturing industry strives for a continuousdevelopment of cost efficient manufacturing processes and improved product quality. These research and development issues are addressed by increasing the implementationof simulation tools based on finite element method (FEM). 23. On Specifying and Estimating Economic Growth as a Spatial Process : Convergence, Inequality, and Migration
Sammanfattning : This thesis includes three self-contained papers. The first paper considers the effect of geographically dependent observations on cross-sectional growth convergence and proposes a way of decomposing the level of technology taking into account geographical variation in growth rates. 24. Online Learning for Energy Efficient Navigation in Stochastic Transport Networks
Sammanfattning : Reducing the dependence on fossil fuels in the transport sector is crucial to have a realistic chance of halting climate change. The automotive industry is, therefore, transitioning towards an electrified future at an unprecedented pace. LÄS MER
25. Localization of N=2 Field Theories: a Twisted Path Across Four Manifolds
Sammanfattning : Supersymmetric quantum field theories provide a framework where certain physical observables can be computed exactly. In those cases, one not only has control over perturbative contributions but also over non-perturbative contributions. LÄS MER
