  1. 6. Prediction of Spontaneous Preterm Birth : Clinical and Immunological Aspects

    Författare :Maria Svenvik; Jan Ernerudh; Marie Blomberg; Maria Jenmalm; Teresa Cobo; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Preterm birth (PTB), defined as birth before 37 weeks of gestation, accounts for most neonatal death and morbidity. Accurate prediction is a pre-requisite for the prevention and proper management of PTB. However, methods for prediction are unsatisfactory, although sonographic cervical length has a moderate predictive value. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Novel Fatty Acid Dioxygenases of Human and Plant Pathogenic Fungi : Studies by Gene Deletion and Expression

    Författare :Fredrik Jernerén; Ernst Oliw; Ivo Feussner; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; aspergilli; dioxygenase; oxygenase; Magnaporthe oryzae; Gaeumannomyces graminis; Lasiodiplodia theobromae; jasmonic acid; linoleate diol synthase; cyclooxygenase; prostaglandin H synthase; cytochrome P450; oxylipin; hydroperoxide isomerase; allene oxide synthase; Pharmaceutical pharmacology; Farmaceutisk farmakologi; Biochemical Pharmacology; Biokemisk farmakologi;

    Sammanfattning : The dioxygenase-cytochrome P450 fusion proteins (DOX-CYP) comprise a heme-containing enzyme family that shares structural and catalytic properties with mammalian prostaglandin H (PGH) synthases. 7,8-Linoleate diol synthase (7,8-LDS) of Gaeumannomyces graminis was first characterized, and DOX-CYP enzymes are of mechanistic and biological interest. 3. 8. Mechanisms of inflammatory signalling in chronic lung diseases : transcriptomics and metabolomics approaches

    Författare :Bettina Levänen; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Sarcoidosis, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) are inflammatory pulmonary diseases with many different clinical phenotypes. A central characteristic of all three diseases is the altered airway function due to inflammation. LÄS MER
