    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Materials Modelling; DFT; Energy Materials; Photocatalysis; HER and OER; Hybrid Perovskite Solar Cells; Stability; Thermodynamics and Kinetics in Na-ion battery; Organic Crystal Battery;

    Sammanfattning : In this Ph.D. thesis, ab initio density functional theory along with molecular dynamics and global optimization methods are used to unveil and understand the structures and properties of energy relevant materials. In this connection, the following applications are considered: i. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Optical Efficiency of Low-Concentrating Solar Energy Systems with Parabolic Reflectors

    Författare :Maria Brogren; Arne Roos; Björn Karlsson; Andreas Häberle; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; Photovoltaic cells; Photovoltaic-thermal systems; Parabolic reflectors; Optical properties; Reflector materials; Optical efficiency; Accelerated ageing; Outdoor ageing; Building-integrated photovoltaics; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Solar electricity is a promising energy technology for the future, and by using reflectors for concentrating solar radiation onto photovoltaic cells, the cost per produced kWh can be significantly reduced. The optical efficiency of a concentrating system determines the fraction of the incident energy that is transferred to the cells and depends on the optical properties of the system components. 3. 18. Modelling optical properties of morphologically complex aerosols

    Författare :Franz Kanngiesser; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; remote sensing; sea salt; black carbon; aerosol; scattering; mineral dust.; depolarisation;

    Sammanfattning : The interpretation of remote sensing data of atmospheric aerosol particles requires a thorough understanding of the links between microphysical and optical properties. Morphologically complex aerosol models describe the particles’ morphology in detail. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Modelling and Characterisation of the Martensite Formation in Low Alloyed Carbon Steels

    Författare :Jessica Gyhlesten Back; Lars-Erik Lindgren; Göran Engberg; Bevis Hutchinson; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dilatometry; Hardness; EBSD; Martensite; Austenite; Kurdjumov-Sachs; Phase transformation; Modelling; Material Mechanics; Materialmekanik; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The current work contains experimental and theoretical work about the formation of martensite from the austenitic state of the steel Hardox 450. Simulation of rolling and subsequent quenching of martensitic steel plates requires a model that can account for previous deformation, current stresses and the temperature history, therefore dilatometry experiments were performed, with and without deformation. 5. 20. Theory and Modelling of Functional Materials

    Författare :Vancho Kocevski; Jan Rusz; Christophe Delerue; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; nanocrystals; graphene; alloys; density functional theory; optical properties; electronic properties; core-shell structures; semiconductors;

    Sammanfattning : The diverse field of material research has been steadily expanding with a great help from computational physics, especially in the investigation of the fundamental properties of materials. This has driven the computational physics to become one of the main branches of physics, allowing for density functional theory (DFT) to develop as one of the cornerstones of material research.
