  1. 6. Vibrational Response Reconstruction and Model Validation

    Författare :Anders Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; error metrics; response reconstruction; controllability; rig test; drive signal identification; inverse problems; model validation; state space; model updating;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, laboratory response reconstruction andcomputational model validation is investigated. The former concernsapplications of control theory as the objective is to reproduce acertain loading for a known component, while the latter concernsoptimization of a parameterized model as the objective is to modifya computational model to mimic a certain component's behavior. 2. 7. On Concurrent Error Detection and Error Propagation

    Författare :Joakim Ohlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; error models; control flow monitoring; simulation experiments; concurrent error detection; permanent faults; watchdog processors; fault injection; transient faults;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses three important steps in the selection of error detection mechanisms for microprocessors: (i) the design and evaluation of error detection mechanisms, (ii) the study of microprocessor error behavior and propagation and (iii) the design and use of error models. The first part of the thesis evaluates four error detection methods with respect to para- meters such as error detection coverage and performance loss, while the second and third parts focus on determining the error patterns most likely to occur in a computer system when different types of faults are present and how to incorporate those error patterns into error models. 3. 8. Survey models for a vehicle speed survey

    Författare :Annica Isaksson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; frame error; missing data; error model; optimum allocation; total error; MATHEMATICS; MATEMATIK;

    Sammanfattning : The impact of some errors, associated with a road traffic survey, is examined. The survey aims at evaluating efforts to reduce the speeds on Swedish roads. It covers both state and urban roads, but we consider only the latter. From these roads, observational sites are selected by a three-stage sampling procedure. LÄS MER

  4. 9. On Error-Controlled Numerical Model Reduction for Linear Transient FE² Analysis

    Författare :Fredrik Ekre; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; computational homogenization; error estimation; model reduction;

    Sammanfattning : Multiscale modeling is of high interest in the engineering community due to its ability to capture the overall response, while still accounting for processes and structures on underlying fine scales. One standard approach to multiscale modeling is the so-called FE² procedure, where the classic constitutive relation is replaced by a boundary value problem on a Representative Volume Element (RVE) comprising the underlying microscale features. 5. 10. Mistaken morality? : an essay on moral error theory

    Författare :Emma Beckman; Gunnar Björnsson; Bart Streumer; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; moral error theory; Mackie; Joyce; Olson; normative institution; fictionalism; normative error theory; epistemic error theory; irreducible normativity; abolitionism; conservationism; propagandism;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation explores arguments and questions related to moral error theory – the idea that morality inevitably involves a fundamental and serious error such that moral judgments and statements never come out true. It is suggested that the truth of error theory remains a non-negligible possibility, and that we for this reason should take a version of moral fictionalism seriously. LÄS MER
