31. III-V Nanowire MOSFET High-Frequency Technology Platform
Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the main challenges in using III-V nanowireMOSFETs for high-frequency applications by building a III-Vvertical nanowire MOSFET technology library. The initial devicelayout is designed, based on the assessment of the current III-V verticalnanowire MOSFET with state-of-the-art performance. LÄS MER
32. Design, Fabrication and Characterization of Microwave Passive Devices on Liquid Crystal Polymer Substrates
Sammanfattning : For microwave/millimeter (mm)-wave systems’ applications, as frequency is moving towards higher and higher bands, materials and integration technologies are witnessing higher performance demands and constraints. The materials presently used as mm-wave substrates are either expensive or show unsatisfactory performance. LÄS MER
33. Millimeter Wave Imaging and Phased Array Antennas for 5G and Aerospace Applications
Sammanfattning : Phased array antennas are cornerstones in many proposed antenna solutions concerning the next generation of both airborne radar systems and wireless communication systems (5G). Additionally, millimeter wave (mm-wave) frequencies are expected to play an integral role in 5G, and are deemed well-suited for inspecting structural components used in the aerospace industry. 34. Antenna Designs Aiming at the Next Generation of Wireless Communication
Sammanfattning : Millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies have drawn large attention, specically for the fifth generation (5G) of wireless communication, due to their capability to provide high data-rates. However, design and characterization of the antenna system in wireless communication will face new challenges when we move up to higher frequency bands. LÄS MER
35. Integration of Ferroelectric HfO2 onto a III-V Nanowire Platform
Sammanfattning : The discovery of ferroelectricity in CMOS-compatible oxides, such as doped hafnium oxide, has opened new possibilities for electronics by reviving the use of ferroelectric implementations on modern technology platforms. This thesis presents the ground-up integration of ferroelectric HfO2 on a thermally sensitive III-V nanowire platform leading to the successful implementation of ferroelectric transistors (FeFETs), tunnel junctions (FTJs), and varactors for mm-wave applications.
