21. Generation, Modulation, and Detection of Signals in Microwave Photonic Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the use of photonic technology in microwave and millimeter-wave applications. The two major parts of this work have been techniques for transmission and signal generation. LÄS MER
22. Millimeter-Wave Photonics: Signal Sources and Transmission Links
Sammanfattning : With the use of higher and higher frequencies in a number of current and future wireless millimeter-wave applications it is beneficial to use photonics for several reasons. The use of optical fibers is an advantageous way to transport millimeter-waves in terms of loss, mechanical flexibility, weight, and insensitivity to electromagnetic interference. LÄS MER
23. Wideband Watt-Level Spatial Power-Combined Power Amplifier in SiGe BiCMOS Technology for Efficient mm-Wave Array Transmitters
Sammanfattning : The continued demand for high-speed wireless communications is driving the development of integrated high-power transmitters at millimeter wave (mm-Wave) frequencies. Si-based technologies allow achieving a high level of integration but usually provide insufficient generated RF power to compensate for the increased propagation and material losses at mm-Wave bands due to the relatively low breakdown voltage of their devices. 24. Integrated Transceivers for Millimeter Wave and Cellular Communication
Sammanfattning : Abstract:This doctoral thesis is addresses two topics in integrated circuit design: multiband direct conversion cellular receivers for cellular frequencies and beam steering transmitters for millimeter wave communication for the cellular backhaul. The trend towards cellular terminals supporting ever more different frequency bands has resulted in complex radio frontends with a large number of RF inputs. LÄS MER
25. Analysis and Optimization for Robust Millimeter-Wave Communications
Sammanfattning : Spectrum scarcity is a longstanding problem in mobile telecommunications networks. Specifically, accommodating the ever-growing data rate and communications demand in the extensively used spectrum between 800 MHz and 6 GHz is becoming more challenging. LÄS MER
