  1. 16. Biochemical Interactions of Some Saproxylic Fungi

    Författare :Joel Ljunggren; Bengt Gunnar Jonsson; Erik Hedenström; Dan Bylund; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biologically active compounds; bioactive; fungi-fungi interaction; fungi co-culture; extracellular amino acids.;

    Sammanfattning : Interactions are all around us, and as humans we may use words and gestures to communicate our intentions. At the micro level of fungi, communications are replaced by chemical signals and structure. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Interactions of cellulose and model surfaces

    Författare :Johanna Stiernstedt; Mark Rutland; William Ducker; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Surface and colloid chemistry; Yt- och kolloidkemi;

    Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is fundamental surface force and friction studies of silica and cellulose surfaces, performed mainly with the atomic force microscope (AFM). The normal interactions between model cellulose surfaces have been found to consist of a longer range double layer force with a short range steric interaction, the nature of which is extensively discussed. 3. 18. An Investigation of Mixed Cellulose Esters and Acyclic Polyacetates: Effects of Side-Chain Lengths and Degrees of Ring-Opening

    Författare :Robin Nilsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; water interactions; oxygen permeation; storage modulus; ring-opening; water sorption; cellulose esters; side-chains; acyclic cellulose acetate;

    Sammanfattning : Bio-based polymers produced from natural sources are gaining an increased interest as potential replacement for today’s conventional fossil-based plastic polymers. Their use is already wide in many large-scale industrial areas such as healthcare, personal care, and food. LÄS MER

  4. 19. Nanostructure and biomolecule interactions : Characterizing the complex

    Författare :Stefan Gunnarsson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nanostructures; Proteins; Lipids; Protein corona; Aggregation; Sedimentation; Diffusion; Electron microscopy; Enzyme activity; Nanowires; Nanoparticles;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents the results of studies done on various biomolecules and their interactions with nanomaterials. The biomolecule sources are everything from purified, single proteins to the complicated mixture of blood serum and cell culture media. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Thermodynamics of Peptide Nucleic Acid Interactions with DNA

    Författare :Tommi Ratilainen; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; thermodynamics; enthalpy-entropy compensation; ionic strength; nucleic acids; fluorescence energy transfer; PNA; calorimetry; sequence-specific binding;

    Sammanfattning : Peptide Nucleic Acid (PNA) is a DNA mimic with the natural nucleobases attached to a charge-neutral pseudopeptide backbone. It has remarkably strong and sequence-specific binding affinity to natural nucleic acids (DNA and RNA), mainly attributed to the lack of charge in the PNA backbone. LÄS MER
