31. Between the Probe and the Pump : An experimental study on cardiac performance analysis based on Echocardiography, tissue and laser Doppler
Sammanfattning : Echocardiography is an ultrasound-based bedside, non-invasive and easily available cardiac diagnostic technique visualising the heart’s morphology and function. Quantification of cardiac wall motion can be measured with the tissue Doppler Imaging (TDI) modality which provides in humans a high diagnostic capacity to differentiate healthy from diseased myocardium with reduced function. 32. Novel molecular techniques for diagnostics and cancer biology
Sammanfattning : Molecular biology is reliant on a large set of increasingly complex methods. The development of high-throughput DNA sequencing almost 20 years ago kicked off a revolution in method development due to its incredible versatility. LÄS MER
33. Targeted therapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia
Sammanfattning : Chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is characterized by the accumulation of mature B lymphocytes in blood, bone marrow and lymphoid tissues. Historically, patients with TP53 aberration and with refractoriness to chemoimmunotherapy had a dismal prognosis. LÄS MER
34. Predictors of prognosis in acute myeloid leukemia : a clinical and epidemiological study
Sammanfattning : AML is a malignant disorder characterized by clonal expansion of immature myeloid hematopoietic stem cells, myeloblasts, in bone marrow, blood and/or other tissue. Despite advances in treatment the majority of patients eventually die from this aggressive disease. LÄS MER
35. Wilms' tumor gene 1 in different types of cancer
Sammanfattning : The Wilms’ tumor gene 1 (WT1) was first reported as a tumor suppressor gene in Wilms’ tumor. However, later studies have shown the oncogenic properties of WT1 in a variety of tumors. It was recently proposed that WT1 was a chameleon gene, due to its dual functions in tumorigenesis. LÄS MER
