  1. 6. On analytical modeling and design of a novel transverse flux generator for offshore wind turbines

    Författare :Dmitry Svechkarenko; Chandur Sadarangani; Waqas Arshad; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transverse flux machines; permanent magnet machines; direct-driven gen- erator; offshore wind turbine; renewable energy; global warming; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The object of this thesis is to develop a cost effective direct-driven wind generator suited for offshore wind turbines. As the generator price is a complicated function dependent on many parameters, the emphasis is mainly put on reduction of the weight of active materials, such as copper, laminated steel, permanent magnets, and electrical insulation. 2. 7. Analysis and Control Aspects of Brushless Induction Machines with Rotating Power Electronic Converters

    Författare :Naveed ur Rehman Malik; Chandur Sadarangani; Luca Peretti; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Doubly-fed induction generator; extended vector control; induction machine; internal model control; Lindmark concept; low voltage ride through; passive resistive network; rotating power electronic converter; rotating exciter; symmetrical faults; synchronous machine; unity power factor; unsymmetrical faults; vector control; wind turbines.; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem; Järnvägsgruppen - Elsystem;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the steady-state, dynamic and control aspects of new type of brushless configuration of a doubly-fed induction machine in which the slip rings and carbon brushes are replaced by rotating power electronics and a rotating exciter. The aim is to study the stability of this novel configuration of the generator under mechanical and grid disturbances for wind power applications. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Design, Modelling and Control of Electrical Machines - With Applications to Iron-powder Machines and Acoustic Noise

    Författare :David Martinez; Industriell elektroteknik och automation; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; BEM; induction machine; noise prediction; vector control; acoustic noise; HEV; series magnetization; leakage reduction; thermal model; FEM; MEC; claw-poles; SMC; slip-ring-less machine; sound intensity measurements; vibration; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two parts, the first dealing with the design of iron-powder synchronous machines, and the second with the analysis and prediction of the acoustic noise in electrical machines. In Part I, a 1.6 kW electrically magnetized claw-pole machine with magnetically conducting end-plates has been analyzed and a prototype tested. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Control of permanent-magnet synchronous machines in automotive applications

    Författare :Oskar Wallmark; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric drive; electric vehicle; fault tolerance; hybrid electric vehicle; inverter; in-wheel motor; loss minimization; permanent-magnet synchronous machine; phase-locked loop; position estimation; sensorless control; vector control;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the design and analysis of control system structures for electric drives equipped with permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) in automotive applications. Sensorless control, meaning vector control without a mechanical rotor position sensor, is considered and a speed and position estimator of phase-locked loop type is analyzed thoroughly. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Study of Induction Machines with Rotating Power Electronic Converter

    Författare :Yanmei Yao; Chandur Sadarangani; Zi-Qiang Zhu; KTH; []
