36. Practical application of machine learning for analyses of biological matrices and environmental phenomena
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents research aimed at forwarding an understanding of machine learning methods as a method of studying complex matrices and environmental phenomena. A number of machine learning methods in the form of linear projection algorithms and statistical experimental designs were applied for qualitative analysis of different matrices. LÄS MER
37. Membrane-Assisted Isoform ImmunoAssay : Separation and determination of protein isoforms
Sammanfattning : Proteins exist in a variety of isoforms with minor differences, mostly due to their glycosylation patterns, which can modulate their biological functions. It seems to be of clinical relevance to measure the isoform-distribution.Thesis describes a novel technology named Membrane-Assisted Isoform ImmunoAssay (MAIIA). LÄS MER
38. Structural Identification of Civil Engineering Structures
Sammanfattning : The assumptions encountered during the analysis and design of civil engineering structures lead to a difference in the structural behavior between calculations based models and real structures. Moreover, the recent approach in civil engineering nowadays is to rely on the performance-based design approaches, which give more importance for durability, serviceability limit states, and maintenance. 39. Detection of blade icing and its influence on wind turbine vibrations
Sammanfattning : Wind turbine installations in extreme conditions like cold climate have increased over thelast few years and expected to grow in future in North America, Europe, and Asia regions due to good wind resources and land availability. Their installed capacity could reach 186 GW by the end of 2020. LÄS MER
40. Observations of submillimeter galaxies and of the Sunyaev-Zeldovich effect toward clusters of galaxies
Sammanfattning : This thesis describes observations of a population of high-redshift, dusty star-forming galaxies: thesubmillimeter (submm) galaxies. The submm galaxies detected so far are very massive and lumi-nous systems, with huge star-formation-rates (SFR>100Myr−1), large reservoirs of moleculargas (Mgas∼1×1010M) and large dynamical masses (Mdyn>1010M).
