  1. 21. Molecular Interaction of Thin Film Photosensitive Organic Dyes on TiO2 Surfaces

    Författare :Shun Yu; Mats Göthelid; Chassé Thomas; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; photoelectron spectroscopy; X-ray absorption spectroscopy; organic semiconductor; oxides; adsorption; dye sensitization; electronic structure; charge transfer;

    Sammanfattning : The photosensitive molecule adsorption on titanium dioxide (TiO2) forms the so-called “dye sensitized TiO2” system, a typical organic/oxide heterojunction, which is of great interest in catalysis and energy applications, e.g. dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC). Traditionally, the transition metal complex dyes are the focus of the study. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Modification of Surface Properties Through Polymer Adsorption. Kinetics, Interaction, Degradation and Stability

    Författare :Dries Muller; Fysikalisk kemi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TIRF.; protein; poly lactide ; poly ethylene oxide ; gelatin; exchange; enzyme; ellipsometry; desorption; degradation; adsorption; copolymers; Physical chemistry; Fysikalisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The interfacial behaviour of polymers in relation to surface modification and polymer degradation was studied. In the first part the interfacial behaviour of amphiphilic poly(ethylene oxide)–poly(D,L-lactide) (EmLn) diblock copolymers at hydrophilic and hydrophobic substrates from aquous solution was studied. Sammanfattning : Efforts to address environmental concerns have resulted in new regulations designed to plan the reduction of plastic and synthetic polymer usage, necessitating the search for sustainable natural alternatives with comparable cost-effectiveness and mechanical performance. Thermomechanical pulp (TMP) fibres are one of the most affordable natural fibres that have no chemical refining in production, production have a high yield of 90-98% and TMP fibres have been demonstrated to improve the mechanical characteristics (strength, stiffness and toughness) of wood-polymer composites (WPCs) compared to the pure polymer. 4. 24. Evaluation of Fluid-Structure Interaction and Biofidelity of Finite Element Head Models

    Författare :Zhou Zhou; Svein Kleiven; Xiaogai Li; David Meaney; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Applied Medical Technology; Tillämpad medicinsk teknik;

    Sammanfattning : Traumatic brain injury is a critical public health issue. Finite element (FE) head models are valuable instruments to explore the causal pathway from mechanical insult to resultant brain injury. Intracranial fluid-structure interaction (FSI) and biofidelity evaluation are two fundamental aspects of FE head modeling. LÄS MER

  5. 25. On the interaction between wort protein and iso-humulone : A study of surface rheology, interfacial structures and particle formation with the relevance to beer foam

    Författare :Yi Lu; Avdelningen för livsmedel och läkemedel; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; wort barley protein; lipid transfer protein; protein Z; iso-humulone; Ellipsometry; Surface rheology;

    Sammanfattning : Beer is one of the most popular drinks in the world. Foam is a unique characteristic of beer, contributing to mouthfeelings and visual perceptions. Therefore, it would be worthwhile to study the solution and interfacial properties ofbeer and assess them with regards to foam. LÄS MER
