16. Recovering Moho parameters using gravimetric and seismic data
Sammanfattning : Isostasy is a key concept in geoscience to interpret the state of mass balance between the Earth’s crust and mantle. There are four well-known isostatic models: the classical models of Airy/Heiskanen (A/H), Pratt/Hayford (P/H), and Vening Meinesz (VM) and the modern model of Vening Meinesz-Moritz (VMM). LÄS MER
17. Interface-Assisted Perovskite Modulations for High-Performance Light-Emitting Diodes
Sammanfattning : Metal halide perovskites have emerged as a class of promising materials for a wide range of optoelectronic devices. Compared with traditional inorganic and organic semiconductors, perovskite materials can be easily processed via solution-based techniques at low temperatures and exhibit high photo-luminescence efficiency, outstanding colour purity, and superior charge transport properties, showing great promise for cost-effective and high-performance light-emitting diodes (LEDs). 18. Investigation of surface and interface phenomena in silicon and silicon dioxide systems
Sammanfattning : The characterization of a thin silicon dioxide (SiO2) film close to the silicon dioxide -silicon interface is very important in understanding and improving solid state electronic and optoelectronic devices. The refractive index, the dielectric constant, and the density of oxide film, are all related to the chemical composition and porosity (voids) of the films. LÄS MER
19. Computational investigation of interface structure and composition in cemented carbides at finite temperatures
Sammanfattning : WC-Co cemented carbides combine superb hardness with high toughness making them ideal for usage in high-speed machining of steels and in wear resistance tools. These excellent mechanical properties are to a large extent dependent on the microstructure and thus the interfacial properties of the material. LÄS MER
20. Polyelectrolytes : Bottle-Brush Architectures and Association with Surfactants
Sammanfattning : This thesis has the dual purpose of raising awareness of the importance of the mixing protocol on the end products of polyelectrolyte-oppositely charged surfactant systems, and to contribute to a better understanding of the properties of bottle-brush polyelectrolytes when adsorbed onto interfaces. In the first part of this thesis work, the effects of the mixing protocol and the mixing procedure on formed polyelectrolyte-oppositely charged surfactant aggregates were investigated. LÄS MER
