  1. 21. On the immunopathogenesis of systemic lupus erythematosus - Immune complexes, type I interferon system, complement system and platelets

    Författare :Christian Lood; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; systemic lupus erythematosus; autoimmunity; rheumatology; immunology; cardiovascular disease;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune rheumatic disorder characterized by inflammation in several organ systems. Sammanfattning : The obligate intracellular bacterium Chlamydia pneumoniae (Cp), a common human pathogen, has been associated with atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The aetiology of non-rheumatic aortic valve sclerosis has, however, not been clarified. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies and cancer : familial risk, genetics and consequences

    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs) are a group of rare rheumatic inflammatory diseases (RIDs), characterised by a diverse range of clinical, serological and histopathological characteristics, with muscle weakness as a shared hallmark. While advancements in disease management have improved the survival rates of patients with IIM, the mortality rate among patients with IIM is still higher than the general population, mainly due to association with comorbidities such as cancer.
