  1. 21. Neck injuries in rear impacts : Dummy neck development, dummy evaluation and test condition specifications

    Författare :Astrid Linder; Chalmers University of Technology; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Neck; Injury; Anthropometric dummy; Severity; Impact test; Rear end collision; Seat; Mathematical model; Velocity; Thesis; Optimization; Mathematical neck models; Rear impact tests; Biomechanics; Road: Components of the vehicle; Road: Components of the vehicle;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of the work underlying this thesis was firstly to develop a neck for a new rear impact dummy, to evaluate the complete dummy and to specify test conditions for a consumer test with attention to AIS 1 neck injuries in rear impacts. In the development of the dummy neck, a mathematical neck model was developed and evaluated. LÄS MER

  2. 22. The Development and Evaluation of Hospital Pay-for-Performance in Lebanon: Casemix, Readmissions and Patient Perspectives

    Författare :Jade Khalife; Socialmedicin och global hälsa; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Health system; Hospital performance; Pay-for-performance; Evaluation; Patient perspectives; Casemix; Readmissions; Lebanon;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Pay-for-performance (P4P) has been widely used in healthcare, but there are few experiences of hospital-based P4P at scale. The evidence of impact from these has been mixed, and there has been increased recognition of the importance of different contexts, designs, incentives and other factors. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Low Frequency Impact Sound in Timber Buildings : Simulations and Measurements

    Författare :Jörgen Olsson; Andreas Linderholt; Leif Kari; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Low-frequency; impact sound; light weight floor; timber joist floor; tapping machine; multi-storey timber building; frequency response functions.; Stegljud; Byggteknik; Civil engineering;

    Sammanfattning : An increased share of construction with timber is one possible way of achieving more sustainable and energy-efficient life cycles of buildings. The main reason is that wood is a renewable material and buildings require a large amount of resources. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Borehole Thermal Energy Storage Systems for Storage of Industrial Excess Heat : Performance Evaluation and Modelling

    Författare :Emil Nilsson; Patrik Rohdin; Maria Andersson; Mathias Cehlin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Improving industrial energy efficiency is considered an important factor in reducing carbon dioxide emissions and counteract climate change. For many industrial companies in cold climates, heat generated at the site in summer will not be needed to fulfil the site heat demand during this time, and is thus removed to the outdoor air.
