  1. 11. Retinopathy and Visual Acuity in People with Diabetes Mellitus and Hard-to-Heal Diabetic Foot Ulceration

    Författare :Anders Sellman; Lund Oftalmologi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Hyperbaric oxygen therapy; Diabetic retinopathy; Diabetic foot ulcers; Mortality; Visual acuity;

  2. 12. Acute skeletal muscle ischemia and reperfusion in the rat : The role of leukocytes and the effect of hyperbaric oxygen on microcirculation and metabolism during reperfusion

    Författare :Allan Sirsjö; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Sammanfattning : Much experimental work in recent years seems to indicate that reperfusion after long periods of ischemia can damage tissue. Suggested factors of importance are accumulation of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMNs) and production of reactive oxygen metabolites (ROMs). LÄS MER

  3. 13. Randomised clinical trials with hyperbaric oxygen in COVID-19 and Long COVID : transcriptomic insights into benefits and harms

    Författare :Anders Kjellberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : The flow from transcription of genes through translation and processing of proteins is a common basis for all life. Redox homeostasis is crucial for the defence against oxidative stress. We adapt through hormesis; non-lethal stress regulates redox-sensitive systems to maintain homeostasis. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Diving and the brain

    Författare :Anders Rosén; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; biomarkers; brain; central nervous system; decompression sickness; dive research; diving; neuronal damage; saturation diving; tau protein; venous gas embolism; neurofilament light; glial fibrillary acid protein; tau; VGE;

    Sammanfattning : Abstract Introduction There are reports that long-term diving is associated with cognitive impairments. This raises the question if diving itself is harmful to the brain in the absence of decompression sickness or hypoxia. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Microvascular Complications and Predictors for Mortality in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes and Foot Ulcers

    Författare :Katarina Fagher; Lund Medicin; []
    Nyckelord :Diabetic foot ulcer; Microvascular disease; mortality risk;

    Sammanfattning : A diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common and serious complication of diabetes. It is today the leading cause of amputations and is associated with both increased morbidity and mortality. Individuals with DFU have 2.5 times higher mortality rates compared to patients with diabetes but without DFU, a risk that persists even after ulcer healing. LÄS MER
