16. Cloud Droplet Forming Potential of Ageing Soot and Surfactant Particles : Laboratory research and Köhler modelling
Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles affect Earth’s climate system by scattering and absorbing light. The perturbation of the climate system caused by a change in aerosol configuration due to anthropogenic emissions has recently improved. LÄS MER
17. Moisture transport and fixation in porous materials at high moisture levels
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis focuses on developing methods of measuring moisture properties at high moisture levels. Paper I deal with a new method of measuring moisture diffusivity at high moisture levels. Papers II to IV present methods of measuring moisture storage capacity as well as results from such measurements. LÄS MER
18. Continuum Mechanics Modelling of Corrugated Board
Sammanfattning : The storage of compressive loaded boxes in an environment with naturally varying humidity is a practical issue in corrugated board employment. Time dependent variables such as moisture content, strain fields, stress fields and material strength play important roles for the time to failure. LÄS MER
19. Experimental studies of sorption and transport of moisture in cement based materials with supplementary cementitious materials
Sammanfattning : Most deterioration processes in cement based materials are closely related to moisture sorption and moisture transport properties. Therefore, it is important to study these properties, both theoretically and practically. This work is an experimental investigation in this field. LÄS MER
20. Marine biogenic polysaccharides as a potential source of aerosol in the high Arctic : Towards a link between marine biology and cloud formation
Sammanfattning : Primary marine aerosol particles containing biogenic polymer microgels play a potential role for cloud formation in the pristine high Arctic summer. One of the major sources of the polymer gels in Arctic aerosol was suggested to be the surface water and more specifically, the surface microlayer (SML) of the open leads within the perennial sea ice as a result of bubble bursting at the air-sea interface.
