  1. 1. Characteristics of Particulate Emissions from Low Temperature Combustion and Renewable Fuels : Aerosol Mass Spectrometry of Refractory Carbonaceous Particles

    Författare :Vilhelm Malmborg; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Emissions; Soot; BC; BrC; ROS; SP-AMS; MiniCAST; Diesel Engine; HVO; RME; Cook Stove; Emissions; Soot; BC; BrC; SP-AMS; ROS; MiniCAST; Diesel Engine; HVO; RME; Cook Stove;

    Sammanfattning : Particulate air pollution is one of the major causes of premature death in the world, and combustion-derived soot emissions contribute strongly to the particulate pollution to which humans are exposed. Black carbon (BC) is one such emission and denotes soot with strong light absorption in the ultraviolet to infrared spectrum. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Cookstoves, Candles, and Phthalates – Real Time Physicochemical Characterization and Human Exposure to Indoor Aerosols

    Författare :Christina Andersen; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Aerosol particles; OA; BC; cookstoves; candle emissions; phthalates; human exposure; PAHs;

    Sammanfattning : Exposure to air pollution is associated with adverse health effects in humans, with special concern for exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5). The physicochemical properties of aerosols impact the health effects. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Ice out of Fire : Ice and cloud condensation nucleation of aerosol particles emitted from controlled soot generation and combustion of renewable fuels

    Författare :John Falk; MERGE: ModElling the Regional and Global Earth system; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Soot; BC; Immersion freezing; IN; INP; CCN; SPIN; CCNC; MiniCAST; Cold Stage; Cook Stove;

    Sammanfattning : Aerosol particles, small solid or liquid particles suspended in a gas, are found everywhere in the atmosphere. Air pollution from such particles, mainly soot from combustion-derived activity is a leading cause of premature deaths in the world and have a large effect on the climate. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Kärl och social gestik : Keramik i Mälardalen 1500 BC-400 AD

    Författare :Thomas Eriksson; Ola Kyhlberg; Ole Stilborg; Eva Hjärthner-Holdar; Lotta Fernstål; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to study the pottery of the Bronze Age and Early Iron Age societies in Eastern Central Sweden (Uppsala and Västmanlands counties). The basis of the thesis is the material from c. 70 sites in the region. The majority are rescue excavations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Greek Cisterns : Water and risk in ancient Greece, 600–50 BC

    Författare :Patrik Klingborg; Gunnel Ekroth; Henrik Gerding; Michaeol Lindblom; Jutta Stroszeck; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Cisterns; Greece; Water; Risk; Materiality; Water supply; Classical Archaeology and Ancient History; Antikens kultur och samhällsliv;

    Sammanfattning : This study explores cisterns in the Greek world 600–50 BC based on a representative body of archaeological material of 410 cisterns from 49 sites presented in a catalogue, and the literary and epigraphic evidence. The aim is to investigate when and how cisterns were constructed, how they were used and functioned in ancient Greek society and why they were used only at certain times. LÄS MER
