  1. 21. Turbulence Transport Modelling in Gas Turbine Related Applications

    Författare :Andreas Sveningsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RANS; secondary flow; realizability; V2F; transition;

    Sammanfattning : Computational fluid dynamics is a cornerstone in gas turbine engine design. It is used to optimize shapes of turbine and compressor airfoils, to predict heat transfer to gas turbine hot parts, to reduce the amount of pollutants that form when fuel is burnt, to reduce gas turbine noise and so on. 2. 22. Turbulence modulation effects caused by small droplets using one-dimensional-turbulence

    Författare :Marco Fistler; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiphase Flow; Droplets; one-dimensional-turbulence ODT ; Turbulence;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents a stochastic model to study turbulence modulation effects on gas phases caused by small droplets or more generally speaking particles to achieve a better understanding about the physics and with the aim to provide data for a subgrid-scale (SGS) model for Large-eddy-simulations. The one-dimensional-turbulence (ODT) model addresses one of the major issues for multiphase flow simulations, namely computational costs. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Numerical Prediction of Propeller Induced Hull Pressure Pulses

    Författare :Muye Ge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cavitation; Pressure pulses; RANS; OpenFOAM; Star-CCM ;

    Sammanfattning : Ship propeller induced pressure pulses is one of the major sources of both onboard noise and vibration as well as underwater radiated noise. The need for accurate pressure pulse prediction is increasing due to rising concerns of environmental impacts and comfort and welfare of passengers and crews. LÄS MER

  4. 24. Numerical prediction of propeller induced hull pressure pulses and noise

    Författare :Muye Ge; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; RANS; Transition; IDDES; Cavitation; Pressure pulses; Sheet cavitation inception; Ship noise; k − ω SST; FWH acoustic analogy; Hydroacoustics;

    Sammanfattning : An operating marine propeller is one of the major sources inducing hull pressure pulses, onboard noise and vibration as well as underwater radiated noise. There are rising concerns of environmental impacts and comfort and welfare of passengers and crews due to these negative effects. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Modelling of Biomass Combustion in Furnaces

    Författare :Torbern Klason; Strömningsteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Termisk teknik; termodynamik; applied thermodynamics; grate fired boiler; Biomass combustion; computational analysis of boiler performance; Thermal engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Biomass combustion in grate fired furnaces is an important approach to convert renewable biomass fuel to heat and electricity. It is not only used in the Swedish energy industry but also by a great number of Swedish households for domestic heating. Burning biomass has the advantage of being CO2 neutral. LÄS MER
