  1. 26. Green Urban Drainage Infrastructure : Hydrology and Modelling of Grass Swales

    Författare :Hendrik Rujner; Maria Viklander; Günther Leonhardt; Jiri Marsalek; Barraud Sylvie; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; VA-teknik; Urban Water Engineering; Centrumbildning - Centrum för dagvattenhantering DRIZZLE ; Centre - Centre for Stormwater Management DRIZZLE ;

    Sammanfattning : The management of urban runoff has evolved along with the advancement of understanding of runoff environmental impacts. Besides the impacts on water quality in the receiving waters, the impacts on the urban hydrologic regime include reduced infiltration by the sealing of pervious land, reduced evapotranspiration by removal of vegetation, and the resulting increase of stormwater runoff peaks and volumes causing flooding, and ultimately degradation of receiving waters. 2. 27. Land Use and Cover or Precipitation? : Changes on Hydrological Response of the Upper Paraná River Basin

    Författare :Sameh Adib Abou Rafee; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The Upper Paraná River Basin (UPRB) has undergone extensive Land Use and Cover Changes (LUCC) in thelatest decades, due to rapid population growth and economic development. Furthermore, variation in precipitationpatterns was observed across the basin mainly after the 1970s Climate shift. LÄS MER

  3. 28. Water supply in hard rock coastal regions : The effect of heterogeneity and kinematic porosity

    Författare :Robert Earon; Bo Olofsson; Gerhard Barmen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Coastal aquifer; Crystalline rock; Water balance; Geographic information systems; Water supply planning;

    Sammanfattning : Water resources in hard rock terrain are difficult to characterize due to heterogeneity and anisotropy in the fracture network, low porosities and limited recharge volumes available during the summer season. Three methods were developed and evaluated in order to assist in water supply planning. LÄS MER

  4. 29. Spatiotemporal streamflow variability in a boreal landscape : Importance of landscape composition for catchment hydrological functioning

    Författare :Reinert Huseby Karlsen; Jan Seibert; Kevin Bishop; Thomas Grabs; Sarah E. Godsey; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; streamflow; catchment hydrology; boreal; water balance; spatiotemporal variability; landscape analysis; climate change; recession curve; Hydrology; Hydrologi;

    Sammanfattning : The understanding of how different parts of a landscape contribute to streamflow by storing and releasing water has long been a central issue in hydrology. Knowledge about what controls streamflow dynamics across landscapes can further our understanding of how catchments store and release water, facilitate predictions for ungauged catchments, and improve the management of water quality and resources. 5. 30. The value of experimental data and modelling for exploration of hydrological functioning: The case of a till hillslope

    Författare :Nino Amvrosiadi; Jan Seibert; Kevin Bishop; Keith Beven; April James; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Successfully modeling one system response (e.g. hydrograph or solute transport) sometimes gives the false sense of well-characterizing the modeled system. This is partly because of the well-known equifinality issue; during the calibration process multiple parameter combinations can produce similarly good results. LÄS MER
