41. Exploring Electronic Processes at the Mesoporous TiO2/Dye/Electrolyte Interface
Sammanfattning : Dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are an attractive way to convert light into electricity. Its development requires a detailed understanding and kinetic optimization of various electronic processes, especially those occurring at the mesoporous TiO2/dye/electrolyte interface. LÄS MER
42. Modelling of the electrochemial treatment of tumours
Sammanfattning : The electrochemical treatment (EChT) of tumours entails thattumour tissue is treated with a continuous direct currentthrough two or more electrodes placed in or near the tumour.Promising results have been reported from clinical trials inChina, where more than ten thousand patients have been treatedwith EChT during the past ten years. 43. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts
Sammanfattning : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials. 44. Operando Analysis of Materials and Processes in Next Generation Batteries
Sammanfattning : With the rise in popularity of electric vehicles and electromobility solutions, there is a higher than ever demand for high energy density batteries. Accompanying this increased demand there is also an increased pressure for lower costs, longer durability, and the use of more sustainable materials. LÄS MER
45. Combining Electrochemistry and Photoelectron Spectroscopy for the Study of Li-ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : In this thesis photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) is combined with electrochemistry to investigate the electrochemical processes that occur at the electrode/electrolyte interfaces in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). LIB systems are studied by the use of both ex situ PES, where electrodes are electrochemically pre-cycled and subsequently measured by PES, and operando PES, where electrodes are cycled during PES measurements.
