  1. 21. Optimization of Chemical Kinetic Mechanisms and Numerical Simulations of Industrial Gas Turbine Burners

    Författare :Abdallah Abou-Taouk; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAS-SST; LES; Gas Turbine Combustion; Swirling Flow; Global Mechanism; Finite Rate Chemistry; Partially Premixed Flames; Chemistry Reduction; RANS;

    Sammanfattning : Increasing demands on environmentally friendly energy conversion indicate that pollutants need to be reduced. Computational Fluid Dynamics is efficiently used today in turbulent reaction flow simulations to gain a deeper understanding of the combustion process and consequently be able to improve combustor design and reduce emissions. 2. 22. Probing the Drip-Lines through Momentum Distributions

    Författare :Martin Smedberg; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; momentum distributions; drip-line; diffraction; 17C; 119C; core shadowing; 6He; neutron stripping; radioactive beams; break-up; intermediate resonance; neutron halo; 8He; 8B; absorption; reaction mechanism;

    Sammanfattning : About a decade ago it was found that nuclei in the vicinity of the neutron drip-line under certain circumstances develop very extended valence neutron distributions, a phenomenon today known as halo states. The recent development of radioactive nuclear beams has provided us with a perfect tool for investigating these particular nuclei. LÄS MER

    Författare :Chen Huang; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; hollow-cone spray; KHRT; liquid penetration; CFD; OpenFOAM; Flame Speed Closure FSC ; ignition delay; SMD; gasoline surrogate; laminar flame speed; presumed PDF; Spray-Guided Gasoline Direct Injection engine; chemical mechanism; modelling; premixed stratified turbulent combustion;

    Sammanfattning : Stringent regulations on the emission of pollutants, especially carbon dioxide (CO2), necessitate the development of advanced combustion technologies. Gasoline direct injection (GDI) into the combustion chamber of a Spark Ignition (SI) engine is a combustion strategy that is widely recognized as having the potential to improve fuel efficiency of internal combustion engines for passenger cars. 5. 25. Assembly and Function of Nitric Oxide Reductase from Paracoccus denitrificans

    Författare :Maximilian Kahle; Pia Ädelroth; Hans-Georg Koch; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; non-heme iron; cofactor; heme-copper oxidase; AAA ; cNOR; chaperone; metal ion insertion; MoxR; nor accessory genes; FeB; liposomes; membrane mimetics; nanodiscs; reconstitution; enzymatic mechanism; NO reduction; O2 reduction; Biochemistry; biokemi;

    Sammanfattning : Bacterial denitrification is a part of the global nitrogen cycle and comprises the stepwise reduction of nitrate to molecular nitrogen, which is released to the atmosphere. Cytochrome c-dependent nitric oxide reductase (cNOR) from Paracoccus (P.) denitrificans catalyzes the reduction of nitric oxide to nitrous oxide and water. LÄS MER
