11. Influence of thermal mass on the heating and cooling demands of a building unit
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this work is to find to what extent the thermal properties of the building materials, the allowed indoor temperature swing, determined by the comfort interval, and, to some extent, the ventilation strategy can affect the heating and cooling demand of a building. It is well known that a thermally heavy building, that is a building with a high heat capacity, often demands less energy for heating and cooling and have a more stabile indoor temperature due to heat storage in the building structure. 12. Controlling Indoor Climate. Passive cooling of residential buildings in hot-humid climates in China
Sammanfattning : Overheating is a paramount problem in residential buildings in hot-humid climates in China during summer. This study aims to deal with the overheating problem and the problem of poor air quality in dwellings. LÄS MER
13. Self-Regulating Active Chilled Beams
Sammanfattning : By designing comfort cooling systems to operate with higher chilled water temperatures, electricity driven chillers may be replaced by natural sources of free cooling. It also enables the possibility of self-regulation which, due to simplicity and robustness, brings cost-savings both during installation and maintenance of the building. LÄS MER
14. Urban Climate and Air Pollution in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso
Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT Africa has recently been singled out by UN Habitat as the fastest urbanizing continent in the world. The most extreme case was found in the Sahelian city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, where the population is expected to almost double over the next ten years. LÄS MER
15. Extensive green roofs in Porto Alegre, Brazil : Effect on indoor thermal comfort in residential buildings
Sammanfattning : Brazil had a significant quantitative housing deficit of 7.7 million residences in 2015, especially in low-income housing. Traditionally, these projects have low levels of thermal insulation which can result in discomfort caused by warmth or cold. The residential sector is responsible for a significant part of the energy use in Brazil. LÄS MER
