11. Studies of nuclear decays and applications of coincidence techniques : properties of excited levels : some features of electron capture decays
Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER
12. Single-photon multiple ionisation of atoms and molecules investigated by coincidence spectroscopy : Site-specific effects in acetaldehyde and carbon dioxide
Sammanfattning : In this thesis, multiple ionisation processes of free atoms and molecules upon single photon absorption are studied by means of a versatile multi-electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy method based on a magnetic bottle, primarily in combination with synchrotron radiation. The latter offered the possibility to access not only valence but also core levels, revealing processes, which promote the target systems into different charge states. LÄS MER
13. X-ray Absorption and Fragmentationas Initial Steps of Radiation Damage in Free Organic Molecules and Nanoparticles
Sammanfattning : Understanding the molecular radiation damage is crucial in radiobiology, molecular physics, and atmospheric science. In this thesis, the initial steps of radiation damage of anhydrous gas-phase molecules and hydrated nanoparticles were studied using synchrotron radiation based electron-ion coincidence spectroscopy and X-ray absorption spectroscopy under vacuum conditions. 14. On the Challenges for Time-of-Flight Electron Spectroscopy at Storage Rings
Sammanfattning : Time-of-flight (TOF) techniques for energy analysis have been common in electron spectroscopy for many decades. TOF-based electron spectrometers benefit from higher transmission and information rate compared to their main competitor: the hemispherical analyser; the drawback being their lower energy resolution. 15. An Event-Reconstructing Silicon Detector for 1 µm Resolution Spectral Computed Tomography
Sammanfattning : Computed tomography (CT) is a medical imaging modality in which cross-sectional images of the human body are created using x-rays. Commercial CT scanners utilize energy-integrating detectors to measure the x-ray attenuation. However, photon-counting detectors with energy-discriminating abilities have started to emerge. LÄS MER
