  1. 21. Autonomous resource management for Mobile Edge Clouds

    Författare :Chanh Le Tan Nguyen; Erik Elmroth; Cristian Klein; Orgerie Anne-Cécile; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Mobile Edge Clouds (MECs) are platforms that complement today's centralized clouds by distributing computing and storage capacity across the edge of the network, in Edge Data Centers (EDCs) located in close proximity to end-users. They are particularly attractive because of their potential benefits for the delivery of bandwidth-hungry, latency-critical applications. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Genotypic and phenotypic characterisation of Staphylococcus epidermidis isolated from prosthetic joint infections

    Författare :Bengt Hellmark; Bo Söderquist; Magnus Unemo; Åsa Nilsdotter; Tor Monsén; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Staphylococcus epidermidis; prosthetic joint infections; antibiotic susceptibility; virulence factors; epidemiology; MLST; agr; SCCmec; MEDICINE; MEDICIN; Biomedicin; Biomedicine;

    Sammanfattning : Staphylococcus epidermidis has emerged in recent years as an important nosocomial pathogen, especially in infections associated with implanted foreign body materials (e.g., prosthetic joints and heart valves) and in individuals with a compromised immune system (e.g. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Effects of nicotine on mesolimbocortical dopaminergic neurotransmission : a pharmacological study in the rat

    Författare :Magnus Nisell; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :nicotine; dopamine; ventral tegmental area; accumbens; prefrontal cortex; c-fos; drug-dependence; sensitization; mecamylamine; D; receptors; SCH 23390;

    Sammanfattning : Tobacco-smoking represents a form of drug addiction to nicotine (NlC) and the reinforcing and dependence-producing properties of NIC depend largely on central dopamine (DA) neurons, located in the ventral tegmental area (VTA) and projecting mainly to the nucleus accumbens (NAc; mesolimbic DA system) and the medial prefrontal cortex (PFC; mesocortical DA system). Generally, the mesolimbic DA system plays a pivotal role in the reinforcing effects of natural rewards as well as of drugs of abuse. LÄS MER
