11. Volume imaging of the abdomen : three-dimensional visualisation of tubular structures in the body with CT and MRI
Sammanfattning : The overwhelming amount of image-based information in modem medicine makes it crucial to develop methods to handle and analyze images and make them comprehensible for users. The aim of this thesis was to study the radiological practice of three-dimensional (3D) visualization of tubular structures in the body with CT and MRI. LÄS MER
12. Long bone growth and evolution revealed by three-dimensional imaging
Sammanfattning : Propagation phase-contrast synchrotron radiation microtomography is a non-destructive method used for studying histology in three dimensions (3D). Using it, the 3D organization of the diaphyseal cortical vascularization in the humerus of two seymouriamorphs was analyzed in this thesis. LÄS MER
13. Development of Time Resolved Laser Imaging Techniques for Studies of Turbulent Reacting Flows
Sammanfattning : In the present thesis the development and application of a novel laser diagnostic system for high speed spectroscopic imaging of turbulent combustion phenomena is presented. The system is capable of recording sequences of up to 8 images with a separation between consecutive images as short as microseconds. LÄS MER
14. Three-dimensional T1 quantification techniques for assessment of cartilage quality using dGEMRIC
Sammanfattning : Osteoarthritis (OA) is a common chronic disease and one of the major global causes for functional disabilities. The disease is characterized by loss and degradation of cartilage, commonly affecting the knees and hips. LÄS MER
15. Imaging the pancreas : new aspects on lobular development and adult constitution
Sammanfattning : The mouse pancreas is a mixed exocrine and endocrine glandconsisting of three lobular compartments: the splenic, duodenal and gastric lobes. During embryogenesis, the pancreas forms from two progenitor populations located on the dorsal and ventral side of the primitive gut tube. LÄS MER
