  1. 16. Modularization of the Learning Architecture : Supporting Learning Theories by Learning Technologies

    Författare :Fredrik Paulsson; Yngve Sundblad; Miguel Angel-Cecilia; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computer Science; Technology Enhanced Learning; e-learning; Semantic Web; Service Orientation; Learning Object; Virtual Learning Environment; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis explores the role of modularity for achieving a better adaptation of learning technology to pedagogical requirements. In order to examine the interrelations that occur between pedagogy and computer science, a theoretical framework rooted in both fields is applied. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Robust execution of robot task-plans : a knowledge-based approach

    Författare :Abdelbaki Bouguerra; Lars Karlsson; Alessandro Saffiotti; Froduald Kabanza; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Autonomous mobile robots; plan execution and monitoring; semantic knowledge; cognitive robotics.; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer and Systems Science; Data- och systemvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Autonomous mobile robots are being developed with the aim of accomplishing complex tasks in different environments, including human habitats as well as less friendly places, such as distant planets and underwater regions. A major challenge faced by such robots is to make sure that their actions are executed correctly and reliably, despite the dynamics and the uncertainty inherent in their working space. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Breakdown situations in dialogues between humans and socially intelligent agents

    Författare :Maitreyee Tewari; Helena Lindgren; Kai-Florian Richter; Olov Engwall; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dialogues; Breakdown Situations; Focus Shift; Human-Centric Artificial Intelligence; Engeström’s Activity Triangle; We-Intention; Argumentation-Based Dialogues; Grice’s Cooperative Principle; Communicative Functions; Wizard-of-Oz; User Studies; Thematic Analysis; Sequence Organisation; Computer Science; datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : Dialogues between humans are complex due to the challenges in predicting how they will unfold as people may want to achieve different purposes. For instance, to act together, they co-create a common goal; to learn, they co-create knowledge; to build relationships, they share emotions and beliefs. LÄS MER

  4. 19. “The technology is great when it works” : Maritime Technology and Human Integration on the Ship’s Bridge

    Författare :Margareta Lützhöft; Sidney Dekker; James M. Nyce; Edwin Hutchins; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; integration; man-machine-interaction; human-machine; Cognitive science; Kognitionsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Several recent maritime accidents suggest that modern technology sometimes can make it difficult for mariners to navigate safely. A review of the literature also indicates that the technological remedies designed to prevent maritime accidents at times can be ineffective or counterproductive. LÄS MER

  5. 20. The puzzle of social activity : the significance of tools in cognition and cooperation

    Författare :Tarja Susi; Tom Ziemke; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; cognition science; social interactions; subject-object relationship; human-computer; Cognitive science; Kognitionsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation addresses the role of tools in social interactions, or more precisely the significance of tools in cognition and cooperation, from a situated cognition perspective. While mainstream cognitive science focuses on the internal symbolic representations and computational thought processes inside the heads of individuals, situated cognition approaches instead emphasise the central role of the interaction between agents and their material and social environment.
