  1. 1. Posttransplant Lymphoproliferative Disorders : Studies of Epstein-Barr Virus, Regulatory T Cells and Tumor Origin

    Författare :Amelie Kinch; Karlis Pauksens; Gunilla Enblad; Eva Baecklund; Harald Holte; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; PTLD; Lymphoma; Epstein-Barr Virus; EBV DNAemia; FoxP3; Treg; Microenvironment; Cell of Origin; Recipient; Transplantation; Immunosuppression; Hepatitis C; Survival; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects almost all humans and establishes lifelong latency in B cells. Posttransplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD) is a rare but serious complication after transplantation triggered by immunosuppression and often related to EBV infection. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Characterization of non-coding mRNA in Epstein-Barr virus

    Författare :Åsa Isaksson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; IRES; PTLD; alternative splice; nucleotide substitution; protein interactions;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human gammaherpesvirus that infects lymphoid and epithelial cells. The virus is the causative agent of infectious mononucleosis, a self-limiting lymphoproliferative disease, and it is additionally associated with various malignancies including Burkitt?s lymphoma, Hodgkin?s disease and lymphoproliferative syndromes in immunocompromised individuals. 3. 3. Strategies for management of EBV and adenovirus infections after allogeneic stem cell transplantation

    Författare :Hamdy Hassan Omar; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Viral infections are one of the challenges that can threaten successful allogeneic HSCT especially during the period of immune reconstitution resulting in a high mortality risk. Adenoviruses and EBV are important viruses during this period. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Regulation and expression of Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1 in transplant patients and cell culture

    Författare :Malin Berggren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :EBV;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human herpes virus that infects over 90% of the world population. Once infection has occurred, the virus persists for life in its host, mainly in an asymptomatic, latent stage with only a few active viral genes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Allogeneic stem cell transplantation in children : identification and prevention of complications : adoptive transfer of EBV-immunity

    Författare :Åsa Gustafsson Jernberg; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Children; CTL; EBV; Graft-versus-leukaemia; Stemcell transplantation; unrelated;

    Sammanfattning : Allogeneic stem cell transplantation (SCT) can cure leukaemia, aplastic anaemia, and some inborn errors of metabolism and immunodeficiencies in children. As only 113 of patients who need SCT have an HLA-identical sibling, the use of alternative donors has increased, to over 50% of all paediatric SCTs at our centre. LÄS MER
