  1. 1. Characterization of Epstein-Barr virus non-coding RNAs in infected cells

    Författare :Guojiang Xie; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; EBV; EBV-associated malignancies; viral gene expression pattern; RPMS1; EBERs; single-cell sequencing; ChIRP; immune evasion; protein synthesis;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) causes multiple types of lymphoid and epithelial malignancies. Unraveling the viral gene expression patterns in tumors and identifying interaction partners between EBV and host elements is crucial for understanding EBV tumorigenesis. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Opportunistic viral infection after paediatric transplantation

    Författare :Carola Kullberg-Lindh; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Paediatric liver transplantation; paediatric stem cell transplantation; immunosuppression; opportunistic; CMV; EBV; AdV; HHV-6; real-time PCR; monitoring; specimen; post transplant lymphoproliferative disease;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Opportunistic viral infections can cause considerable morbidity and mortality in organ and stem cell transplanted (SCT) patients, mainly due to iatrogenic T cell dysfunction. Whereas in SCT patients, in general the immunosuppressive treatment can be discontinued after 6-12 months, for the majority of organ transplanted patients, the need for treatment is life-long. 3. 3. Epstein-Barr virus and genomic instability : a new look at the mechanisms of viral oncogenesis

    Författare :Siamak Akbari Kamranvar; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :EBV;

    Sammanfattning : EBV is associated with a variety of lymphoid and epithelial malignancies but the mechanisms of oncogenesis are still not fully understood. The aim of the work described in this thesis was to assess whether induction of genomic instability, as defined by the accumulation of non-clonal genetic aberrations, could play a role in EBV oncogenesis and identify the viral protein(s) responsible for this phenotype. 4. 4. Regulation and expression of Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1 in transplant patients and cell culture

    Författare :Malin Berggren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :EBV;

    Sammanfattning : Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is a human herpes virus that infects over 90% of the world population. Once infection has occurred, the virus persists for life in its host, mainly in an asymptomatic, latent stage with only a few active viral genes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Functional aspects on the Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 5

    Författare :Martin Dufva; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Epstein-Barr Virus; EBV; B-cell; transformation; cDNA array; polyadenylation; transcription; cell cycle; apoptosis; two-hybrid system.;

    Sammanfattning : The Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infects resting B-cells. This leads to an EBV driven transformation of the resting B-cell into a cell with an activated B-cell phenotype that proliferates indefinitely in vitro. Epstein-Barr Nuclear antigen 5 (EBNA5) is one out of six EBV encoded protein involved in transformation of resting B-cell. LÄS MER
