31. Magnetron Sputter Epitaxy of GaN Epilayers and Nanorods
Sammanfattning : In this research, electronic-grade GaN(0001) epilayers and nanorods have been grown onto Al2O3(0001) and Si(111) substrates, respectively, by reactive magnetron sputter epitaxy (MSE) using liquid Ga as a sputtering target. MSE, employing ultra high vacuum conditions, high-purity source materials, and lowenergy ion assisted deposition from substrate biasing, is a scalable method, lending itself to large area GaN synthesis. 32. Development of visible spectroscopic techniques for applications in plasma diagnostics
Sammanfattning : In this thesis visible spectroscopy is developed and used for two applications. Studies of motional Stark effect spectra for diagnosing the current distribution in the fusion plasmas with two different spectroscopic diagnostic systems: ratiometry and interferometry. LÄS MER
33. Cell-Free Massive MIMO: Distributed Signal Processing and Energy Efficiency
Sammanfattning : In this era of rapid wireless technological advancements, wireless connectivity between humans, humans with machines, and machines with machines is gradually becoming an absolute necessity. The initial motivation for wireless connectivity was to enable voice communication between humans over a geo-graphical area. LÄS MER
34. Design Aspects of Coordinated Multipoint Transmission : A Study of Channel Predictions, Resource Allocation, User Grouping and Robust Linear Precoding for Coherent Joint Transmission
Sammanfattning : Shadowed areas and interference at cell borders pose great challenges for future wireless broadband systems. Coordinated Multipoint (CoMP) coherent joint transmission has shown the potential to overcome these challenges by turning harmful interference into useful signal power. LÄS MER
35. Distributed Estimation of Network Cardinalities
Sammanfattning : In distributed applications knowing the topological properties of the underlying communication network may lead to better performing algorithms. For instance, in distributed regression frameworks, knowing the number of active sensors allows to correctly weight prior information against evidence in the data. LÄS MER
