11. Cooling demand in commercial buildings-The influence of building design
Sammanfattning : Large window areas and glass façades have become popular by architects. As the glass architecture has become fashionable in quite a short time it seems that the architects are not always aware of the energy consuming consequences that the highly glazed buildings, sometimes in combination with special room plans might cause. 12. Fatigue life extension in existing steel bridges. High-Frequency Mechanical Impact treatment and Tungsten Inert Gas remelting in life extension and fatigue crack repair of welded steel structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the performance of improved welds with two post-weld treatment methods for application on existing structures. High-Frequency Mechanical Impact (HFMI) treatment and Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) remelting were used for fatigue life extension of welded structures. LÄS MER
13. High Efficiency Microwave Amplifiers and SiC Varactors Optimized for Dynamic Load Modulation
Sammanfattning : The increasing use of mobile networks as the main source of internet connectivity is creating challenges in the infrastructure. Customer demand is a moving target and continuous hardware developments are necessary to supply higher data rates in an environmentally sustainable and cost effective way. LÄS MER
14. Modeling and Forecasting of Electric Vehicle Charging, Solar Power Production, and Residential Load : Perspectives into the Future Urban and Rural Energy Systems
Sammanfattning : The urban and rural energy systems are undergoing modernization. This modernization is motivated by the need to increase sustainability in both systems. Some characteristics of this modernization include electrification of industries, transports, and heating and cooling loads. LÄS MER
15. Beyond the Force: Redefining load exposure assessments of nutrunners for improved power tool ergonomics
Sammanfattning : Reaction force exposure from handheld tightening tools (also known as nutrunners) constitutes an acknowledged contributor to musculoskeletal disorders among assembly operators, and are today not regulated by explicit limits. The research presented in this thesis aimed at contributing to the development of recommended exposure limits for, and assessments of, reaction loads from handheld right-angle and pistol-grip tightening tools.
