36. Innovative Electrolytes and Electrodes for Sodium-Ion Batteries
Sammanfattning : Batteries are expected to be masterpieces for future large-scale energy storage, but the emergence of ecological and financial concerns has forced us to think about complementary battery technologies to the today outstanding lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Therefore, the sodium-ion battery (SIB) is a concept worth studying - especially for large-scale applications due to the abundance of sodium as an element, the overall low cost anticipated, and the similarities with LiBs, which should ease a technology change. 37. Local structure and dynamics in proton conducting perovskite oxides: insights from quasielastic neutron scattering and infrared spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Proton conducting oxides have been extensively studied in the past decade due to their potential application in a number of energy related devices such as solid oxide fuel cells, hydrogen sensors, and steam electrolyzers. However, the final industrialisation of these materials depends on unlocking fundamental questions about the relationship between their atomic structure, localized proton dynamics and proton conductivity. 38. Tailoring of Transition Metal Silicides as Protective Thin Films on Austenitic Stainless Steel
Sammanfattning : The objective of this study is to make use of transition metal silicides in a novel way as protective thin films on engineering metals. It can then be possible to take advantage of the potentially good corrosion resistance of metal silicides while compensating for their brittle nature by the ductile bulk material. LÄS MER
39. Development of Polyamide Solvent Extraction Reagents for Trivalent Lanthanides
Sammanfattning : Rare earth elements (REEs), including lanthanides, are critical materials for many industrial technologies. As a result recycling of end-of-life products containing REEs might be beneficial, as this could partially satisfy the growing demands of industry for these elements. LÄS MER
40. Self-doped Conjugated Polyelectrolytes for Bioelectronics Applications
Sammanfattning : Self-doped conjugated polyelectrolytes (CPEs) are a class of conducting polymers constituted of a π-conjugated backbone and charged side groups. The ionic groups provide the counterions needed to balance the charged species formed in the CPEs backbones upon oxidation. LÄS MER
